Does anyone here has circulation problems like I do? I have been told that I need wheat grass, spirulina and certain other supplements in order to get my blood going properly. I know wheat grass contains absorbic acid, do you think this is okay? If not, what other suggestions do you have for improving my circulation the IC-friendly way?

What does your doctor say about this? Does he agree that you need the supplements?

If you haven't discussed them with your physician, I think it would be a good idea to do so.

No, Donna, I haven't talked to my urologist about it because I won't see him until the 19th of April. Are you saying I should just call him with any questions I have? Then I would be calling him every day! Besides, sometimes I wonder if actually knows more than I do.

I second the recommendation to discuss anything like this with your urologist. There are an awful lot of foods/medications etc. that can make IC symptoms worse.

I'm curious, who told you that you need wheat grass and your circulation is poor? I'm betting it's someone who is not a medical authority - am I right?

Circulation problems run in the family- my father wears a special 'tight' socks to increase the blood flow, my mother is on blood thinning medication to prevent blodd clots and I, as I was told, will develop this as I get older, so my interest in anti-clotting, circulation stimulants is more preventative than anything else.

Honestly, wheat grass, spirulina and etc. is something I got from the Internet. I suppose they could be better alternatives to vitamin C, which is also recommended for circulation.

I work in health care and don't normally see these drugs offered to patients, so I would talk to your MD before starting this, especially with IC...and especially if you are going to be starting meds for the IC.
Good luck
