We had to take Brandon back to the e.r tonight he had a real bad night last night we thought about taking him at four in the morning but didn't because of the other children. well this is how it happen this morning we gave him more pain medicine he got up and was trying to play but wouldn't eat because he was hurting badly from what we thought was the foley they put in yesterday when his i.v.p came back he didn't have a stone or any blockage. just he couldn't empty his bladder. so later on today the pee started coming out of his penis around the cath. it was like the cath was stopped up somehow but yet there was urine still going in it. poor baby his penis was so swollen and didn't want mommy to see (which i understand that he is 12) we took him back to the e.r well before we got there i decided i was going to have them remove the cath (which yesterday they didn't follow order and put one in to big) let him dranks some fluids to see if he could pee on his own. the poor baby was saying he was about to bust to pee. when they took the foley out. he had to go but it was only a small amount but when he did a stone came out. while the RN (man) was standing there to see if he could go.
after that the e.r doctor came in and talked with me asking me his history i told him he was in the hosp last year for kidney stones how they didn't show up on the test they did etc. trying to make a long story short here. most of you already know it.
anyhow he decided i was right since he was almost a 100% sure that was a stone we would push some i.v fluids in him to see if it would work. well after that frist bag. he filled that sucker up half full. I cried i was so happy :woohoo: two more small stones where found.
anyhow they gave him a demrol shot threw his i.v because of his pain changed his pain medicine gave him another i.v full of fuilds and he peed again a large amount (which i could pee that much lol) no stones where found in that last one. he said for him to stay out of school until thursday to keep his appt. with the uro. (funny thing he is on spring break this week) what a way to start that right.
they where going to admit him if he was nausa but he wasn't thank you dear Lord.
he is home resting now. still very sore. but thank each and everyone of you who said a prayer for my baby.

is it funny to be happy about seeing someone pee. i think the other pat. in the rooms thought i was a crazy lady for being so happy about my baby peeing. let me tell you i would had been happy if he had peed on me as long as it came out. and boy did it!!!!!
I'm one proud mom over seeing him being able to pee again.
God Bless from a very proud mom.

Oh b.t.w they sent the stone off to see what its made of and we will know in three to four days they said for his new uro to call and get the report. the new uro may get mad about the foley out but i really don't care i was glad i decided to keep it out and the e.r doctor agree with me to let him try.
Thank the lord there is some caring doctor out there who are willing to go agasint another doctor orders to see if something else will work.
which it did perfectly!!!!
now to find out what is causing these things we think we know why there not showing up the reason i was gaven is because there forming in his urine over night. its not like there forming in kidneys that is why he doesn't have the kidney pain but yet there calling it kidney stones :hmm: oh well at least it has a name now.
Thank you Thank you Thank you the prayers works just goes to show how powerful prayers can be.
Oh b.t.w i printed out all the prayers post to share with brandon this morning it really made him feel good that mommies friend even tho they don't know him personally care about him.
God Bless once again

I'm so glad your son is okay :grouphug:
It was really nice of you to show him the posts.
I've heard of kidney stones that form in the urine as opposed to the kidneys, they're usually called "bladder stones".
Most stones are made of calcium deposists. They'll probably start your son on a low-calcium diet to stop that. I hope you haven't been giving him a calcium supplement?
Anyway, I'm really happy that your son went pee :lmao: Show him this too if you wanna :D

I'm so glad he is better. It is scary when our babies are sick.

Hugs to you and Brandon,

I'm so glad too that he is much better - I hope he never has to go through anything this awful again ever. Passing stones can be one of the most painful experiences any person can have - it sounds like you both were very brave in facing this. I hope so much that there will be no more stones.

I have a tendency to form kidney stones, and I've found that avoiding the high oxalate foods has really helped me avoid making any more kidney stones. If your son has calcium oxalate stones, too, a low-oxalate diet will hopefully prevent any more stones from forming.

Blessings, Lori

I am so happy he finally passed those stones. Reminds me of mine. I have had them 4 times in the last 8 yrs and mine have NEVER shown on that stupid IVP. He is so young to be having them though, I feel so sorry for him. I almost passed out with the last one I had I can only imange how he felt. My stone had alot to do with dairy, not sure exactly what they called it. They told me to cut way down on my dairy intake. I never really ate alot of dairy so it was hard to figure that out. They also say stones tend to run in the families and once you have a stone you are more likely to continue to have them. I will continue to pray for him. And a cyber hug :grouphug:

Earlier you blamed yourself for his bladder/kidney problems. Please dont do that. I beat my self up for years about my baby boy. Of course he is not a baby anymore, 8 now, but he has allergies, asthma real bad. He is highly allergic to eggs and nut. He has NEVER had a birthday cake and probley wont because he most likely wont out grow his egg allergy. But I blamed myself for years b/c of my health, is like his, and I smoked while I was pregers with him. I take him now and get allergy shots. There was one year he was in the hospital 7 x. Got so use to IV's that they or shots never bother him now. When he had food posioning last year the ER was amazed how big he was getting the IV's and shot. We tend to blame ourselves when our babies have problems, but we have to remember some things just run in families. As stones tend to do.
