Do any of you get along alright with strawberries? I want to try some real bad. I love them with cottage cheese sprinkled with a little Splenda.
If you do try them, I'd recommend taking Prelief with them. That's how I can "get away" with raspberries mixed with blueberries...

With Prelief I can eat a very small serving of strawberries if I don't eat anything else that might be a trigger.

Strawberries are suppose to be very acidic. I once had a small amount with some tums, and they didn't bother me to bad.

I can do three or maybe four strawberries now - i used to not be able to, but now that I have my symptoms regulated with medication I can do most things in very small amounts (I take prelief just in case).

I can`t eat them, I feel like my bladder is going to explode.

Sometimes, depending on what kind of day I am having I can get away with eating strawberries if I put a little bit of sugar on them and take my prelief. Other then that, it's flare up city for me. It took me awhile to realize that. I used to stop at dunkin donuts and get a strawberry koolatta on my way to my DMSO treatments, and I figured me all of a sudden having to go was due to the car ride. Since I always get bad flares in a car. Turned out that as soon as I realized strawberries were a big no no, I stopped drinking them before going out on the road and instead of stopping at EVERY exit on the interstate, I only had to stop at every other one. But on days that I am just lounging around home with my babies (my black lab and chihuahua) I find I can eat like 5 strawberries with sugar (which I heard also cuts down on the acidity of things) and my prelief. I hope that helps!!
OOOOOOOOO I miss strawberries...but just one sends me into a flare.
