JUST STARTED TAKING DITROPAN XL, ABOUT 2 WEEKS NOW. SEEMS TO HELP A LITTLE. WHAT HAS HELPED PEOPLE THE MOST TAKING THIS. DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD KEEP TAKING OR TRY REGULAR DITROPAN BECAUSE OF THE COST. $137.00 FOR 30 TABS :loco: ANY SUGGESTION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THANKS TANYA

Tanya, try over at Costco for the price of that. You dont have to be a member to use their pharmacy, you just tell them at the door thats what u r doing and u go in. You can check even at their website, may be some help on the price. As for using Ditropan xl, I take the 10 mg but it only helps if I take it twice a day, the doc took me off one of them a day for the past two weeks and I havent felt real good, so after waiting almost 24 hrs. for a callback from him, I got one today and doc said start back on taking two again. It really helps me w/the "gotta go" feeling. One a day, barely even takes the edge off. I know of one person, cant remember if shes on the xl or reg. but she takes 5 mg three times a day. All depends on the system. Do watch your liquid intake, thats one thing my uro said he sees a lot of, you take the ditropan you get thirsty (dry mouth) and then u drink more which can put ya in a vicious circle. I drank no more on the two than I did before ditropan. I believe it can take up to a month for it to start helping. Do you watch what you eat/drink?

I have taken ditrapan and then ditrapan xl for years...........its my miracle drug and i couldnt live with out it.......... I take the 15 mg twice a day now.........but if its not bothering me to much i just take the 10 mg........anyway my case is made more complicated because i am pregnant and the uro says i cannot take more that 30mg a day now........
before i got pregnant i was taking three 15 mgs a day........yes three.........my IC got really bad and they didnt know what else to try.
BUT anyway i guess i have been taking it for almost 16 years now........and i cannot live without it .....seriously.........it worked best when i could take it with my urelle or urised.......but i can't take that now either .........not til after the baby is born anyway.
THe only thing that bothered me at first was the dry mouth and the dry eyes but after u take it for a while and get use to it ....it never really bothered me........at the really higher doses it made me dizzy sometimes.......and constipated but it still seemed to help my bladder so as long as its helping........i am going to keep taking it.......
I hope that helps some

Ditropan XL has worked great for me, I take 10mg once a day and have no side effects at this dose.
You didn't say what dose you take? Where I live, taking 2x5mg tablets per day is actually 3x more expensive than thaking 1x10mg tablet per day. $170/month as opposed to $60/month. Don't ask me why.
You've only been on it for 2 weeks, it may take several weeks for it to work. Your urologist may allow you to increase your dose to experiment and find out what dose works best for you. It takes time to find the right dose. So if you are happening to buy the 5mg tablets right now, that's great, it allows you to increase your dose. The higher dose pills may be cheaper.

Hello again friends, Sorry I forgot to mention the dose my uro started me out with 10mg a day. I believe it is working. Not sure, I notice that I'm not going pee much. I still have the urge to go but can't. So I will try alot of times to go and then finally I will go. Maybe it's because I have always called the bathroom "MY OFFICE". Because that's where I spend most of my time. I'm so use to having to pee all the time that maybe I'm just use to going to the bathroom. It's only been going on for 12 years!!!!!!
I know there are alot of us taking this how has it helped you?
Thanks for your replies. Need all the help I Can Get!
