My doctor said there are three new meds on the market for urgency frequency and leaking, he gave me some samples for me to try for one month. I have only taken them three days and already I see a big difference since taking Vesicare (or maybe it is spelled Veslcare) I can go to the bathroom and have a full stream of urine and it seems to all come out at once and just drip or go a little then stop and go some more.
This is too good to be true, you only take one a day prefer the mornings but here is the down-fall the cost if out of this world. I checked Canadas price because they are always cheaper and it costs $239.95 for one month supply.
Well I cannot afford that. so I guess I will take what the doctor gave me and maybe he can afford to give me another months supply. I do not know how I would ever afford to purchase them for myself. I just turned 64 on March 10th, I know next year (if I live that long) I will qualify for some kind of pace program if they still have it. So maybe then I can afford to get some relief and meds that I need so bad.
I have not been on the boards for awhile, I have other problems going on, which they say goes with IC that is keeping me from having any free time.
Thanks to all who have helped me with all the info and the talks of your problems, there is always someone that is worse off than you.
Take care and God Bless.

Sue,
I'm so sorry it cost so much. I don't see why the doctor would have any problems with giving you another mths sample. I believe they get there samples free. in order to test them to see how they help the pat. the drug companys give them to them in hopes they will write more Rx's for them. that is how they get the word of the new drug out.
that is what i believe but i may be wrong.
Plz ask he may be able to help you for few mths. on this if not longer.
please keep us updated on how its doing for you.

was you retaining a lot before you started taking this drug?? I retain a lot that is the reason i'm asking.
I may ask my doctor weds when i go in for a sample if he has any to see if it helps. If it don't fall into the list of no no's for me since i have a long list of reaction to medicine.
would you please check the name of the drug out so i have the right spelling for it before i go in ??
I would love to stop retaining. I think that has a lot to do with the bladder pressure i have.
sending you hugs and prayers
Rhonda

$239 a month. Geez, most of us have lost our jobs because of this disease and now facing the drug costs. Is there any kind of medicaid you could qualify for? I feel so bad for you. I know that in the beginning a lot of my disability went for elmiron and then it didnt even work.

Hey--
My uro gave me Vesicare to try and it didn't work worth a hill of beans for me. I'm glad it worked for you. PM me or e-mail me if you'd like.

Hugs,
Barb

I'm glad that worked for you soon...it's interesting that so many different things work for different people. My uro gave me samples of vesicare and i tried them for almost 2 weeks and didn't see a difference at all.

My doctor also gave me a weeks sample of Vesicare and I've been taking it for about 4 days. My frequency has lessened a lot since I started taking it but I don't know if it is from the medicine or if I'm just having a few good days. I guess I'll have to wait and see. He also gave me samples of another medication that is similar to Vesicare, called Enablex. Once I finish my samples of Vesicare, I'll give that one a try and see which is the best. I'll keep you posted.
