I have heard that by neutralising the acid in our digestive track that it can deter the proper breakdown and absorption of foods.

I use to take a multi-vitamin until they started causing flares.

I was just wondering what some of you might do to insure your getting proper vitamin intake?

Thanks!

Good question. I would also like to know about that too. Especially Vit C. I currantly do not take any Vitamins for the same reason. Although I do take Calcium with Vit D for my bones, but that is all.

I'm so diet sensitive I can't even eat vitamin fortified cereals. Basically I try to eat the most balanced diet I can because I know that getting enough vitamins is a problem. So, I eat a lot of vegetables & try to make sure I have broccoli several meals a week because it is high in Vitamin C. I have blueberries several times a week. I have several servings of dairy every day. It's not ideal, but it's the best I can do.
Hope you find something that works for you:)

Red peppers (not the hot ones - the red bell peppers) are also a good way to get vitamin C - I think one red bell pepper has as much vit c or more than an orange - so I add them to salads and snack on them.

I have read on the boards that some members have success with children's chewable vitamins. When I was diagnosed last year at this time, I took all separate vitamins plus a buffered ester c. I was taking so many tablets I was gagging. I found a multivitamin through the Boards here that contains burffered C plus biflavonoids such as quercetin. I have had success with that particular multivitamin. It is made by Usana. they have a website where you can read the ingredients. We are all different and react in various ways. Luckily, I have been able to tolerate this multi-vitamin very well. liz

ester c is great. as are red bell peppers. plus eat plenty of veggies, to get your other vitamins, as other than tomatoes and onions, veggies are safe.

carrots and almond butter are like, my favorite snack.
