Hi, i went to my specialist yesterday and finally found out what the biopsy said that he did when i have my cystoscopy and hydrodistention he said i have trigonitis as well as IC.

I just wanted to know what exactly is trigonitis and is it just a one time thing that goes away or is it like IC and never leaves?

The Doctor finally put me on Elmeron it hink thats how it is spelled. It has taken a long time for me to get any medication at all other then pain killers so i am happy :woohoo:

I was diagnosed with trigonitis five years after diagnosis with IC. I had a doctor tell me that trigonitis is just another word for IC. She said it was the same thing. Not sure if that is true. I couldn't find much about it on the internet.

The trigone is an area in the bladder. I have to agree that trigonitis is a part of IC.

The trigone is the bottom rear part of the bladder where the two ureters come into it from the kidneys, and where the urethra exits the bladder from the bottom. Often this part of the bladder can get especially inflamed, and this is called trigonitis. I believe it is a part of IC like the others and think the Elmiron may help you.
