Well, what do you know... I was standing in line to pick up my Zanex prescription (my additional strategy of dealing with my new diagnosis) and I noticed a poster saying that certain over the counter medication / herbs deplete you from certain vitamins/ ingredients your body needs and it also listed effects of antiacids, which is what Prelief is. It said antiacids cause depression (what I'm struggling with), memory loss, mood swings and others. No wonder once I started taking it I feel depressed. But it does make me feel just a little better.

Check your ph level. Calcium is one of the minerals that too much antacid can limit.
Talk to your doctor before assuming that Prelief is the cause of depression.
http://vitaminlady.com/articles/depresmeds.asp I have been trying to research your theory and am not finding supportive results. I know IC is hard to accept...talk to your doctor please!

While I know that antacids can react with some medications, this information should be included in the leaflet you get with your prescriptions. I have never read anything that would indicate that Prelief could cause depression.
Please talk this over with your doctor. Prelief helps many people and I would not discourage anyone from taking it.
