Ic And What Else?

How do you know if you have endemetriosis with IC. Could they tell from a sonogram. Are there any signs? symptoms? I am just freaking out my gyno never told me i have any reason to believe i have endo so why would i think that? Iknow it sometimes go hand and hand but is it possible not to have that. How would you know?

I questioned this also b/c I have been having weird symptoms for a few months now. From what my gyno said, endometriosis is diagnosed via laproscopy. I'm interested to see others' responses to your question...I'm having a laproscopy next week b/c my periods have been so frequent and irregular for a while. Wondering what other signs endo. has and if other ICers have irregular periods due to just having IC. Good luck.

i too have irregular periods. I was on the pill for 5 years went off a year later got pregnant had a miscarriage and then 2 monthes later diagnosed with IC what a nightmare. What are your symptoms? It just scares me because i want to have a baby real soon. It scares me with endo. You mean sonogram cant tell?

Hi ,my name is Danielle. The only way to diagnose endo is to have a laproscopy done. I was suspected to have it at age 11, but was not truley diagnosed with it until I was 18. My mom would not consent to me having the procedure done. I was diagnosed with IC at age 20. I am now 21 and just found out im pregnant a couple weeks ago. It was funny because I had just had the trial interstim put in and was going to have the permanent one put in a week later. I ended getting in a car accident and had to be taken to the hospital to make sure the temp. leads had not moved. They did a pregnancy test first and it came back positive. I was told that my husband and I may not even be able to have kids. If we did want to try we would have to go on fertility meds. So I would not worry about being able to get pregnant. I hear of many woman that have endo and IC and still have kids. They also say that having a baby may reverse the endo. Just something to maybe look forard too. Good luck.
