Hello,

I do not have IC as of yet... but my urologist said that hes pretty sure what i have... he ran some test on me about 2 yrs ago but my symptons keep getting worst... before when I had uti's i was treated and i might of had some blood .. but now im on meds 24-7 and i have no infection but a lot of blood... i called his nurse the other day who was no help... asked her if this was normal and she said for some patients yes but in your case no... since u really never had blood showing up before... and of course the EARLIEST appt i could make is in may :cussing: ! I'm just wondering if blood is showing up if thats another sign of IC since i didnt have any infection and its not close 2 my period... if anyone has any answers that would be great

Hmmmm. If it is a lot of blood I am surprised they can't work you in until May. :( Do they have a cancellation list you could get on or do you have a family doc who might be able to see you sooner than May?

If it was me I'd probably try to get into my family doc or an urgent care type place to check on that bleeding. Any chance you could call and ask to speak directly to your doc about the problem, rather than speaking to his nurse????

I would also suggest you call back and try to get in sooner, with blood in your urine. If this is the first time you have experience this. Sometimes IC'ers will have blood that is seen under a microscope in their urine. I have had it show up this way. I would try and leave a message requesting the dr to call you back. If not maybe go to a walk in clinic or ER and be checked for a UTI or kidney stone or something. Try and find someone to help you...I hope you start feeling better soon

His nurses are NO help and are so rude half of the time.. i had my mom call in and ask to make a earlier appt because my 6 month check up would of been june 1st. when i spoke to his nurse the other day she really didnt know what to tell me... i was thinking u know if i was her i would of place the patient on hold and asked the doc himself! well my mom works for my primary care dr and usually when i have blood its a trace and now its showing up as moderate... and i can actually see it myself this time. i just dont know what to do since its really the 2nd time i've had blood showing up like this... and he hasnt said that i actually have IC maybe its something else.. im just trying to calm my nerves and try to find answers if the drs office isnt willing to help.. dont get me wrong... hes an awesome dr but his nurses and staff suck.. and of course i lost a lot of sleep worrying about this... and no one my age has this problem that i know of because im only 19... so its kind of a scary thing

Where are you in Fl? I live on the west coast near Tampa. I'd go with the primary doc in the mean time too. Call & make an appt. Kathi

I agree with Kim! It can be a sign of IC...but I would want to see a doc if I am having an abnormal amount of blood.
Try to calm down. Getting really stressed makes everything worse. Try the IC diet and some calcium and it may help. Let us know how you are doing...

I live in Jacksonville,FL...

Well i got to see my urologist today... and it was nothing but blood.. no infection and he thought it was very strange.. he was like u have a lot of blood! and you never use to have so..so now i have to take some more test which means another cycstopy (how ever its spelled) and a cat scan incase the ultrasound is not picking up stones that he thinks i may have... its just bad service when the front staff is always rude... great dr but bad staff and when ur not feeling to well u dont wanna be talked to by rude medical asistance.. i guess i'll have to wait and see and see what the results are...
