I am having my cysto on Wed. The uro swears that I will only feel sick for a day. Is this true? I am so close to exams. I explained my concerns to him and he says he wants me diagnosed before exams so I can start treatment.
However, exams are in a 3.5 weeks. I am wondering how long it takes from Cysto to a follow-up appointment? His nurse said about 6 weeks but frankly, his office staff is terrible so I don't have much faith in anything they say. They also said 6 weeks for cysto and I got one a week after my original appointment. Generally, how long do you have to wait from cysto for the follow-up?
I want some treatment already ;)

I think that there was NO WAY I could have been okay in one day. MAYBE in five days or so, but not one day. My uro told me the same thing and it was NOT one day, I am still in pain and this was 6 weeks ago. I would say you would be okay for exams three weeks away though, I wouldnt worry about the follow-up, they dont do much there. Hoep it goes well, let us know what happens

Thanks Sarah. I am sorry you had a bad experience.
Do you think it would make a difference that I am not in any pain now? My only symptom at the moment is frequency!

I have had 3 cystoscopies and it takes me about 3-4 days to start feeling better.
Hugs,

2-3 days is what it took for me. I had mine on a Wednesday & I was back at work the following Monday. (I was okay by Sat., but glad to have the extra 2 days to relax). I didn't have a biopsy, I think that adds some to the recovery time.
I think I saw my doctor for follow up 3 weeks after the cysto/hydro.
One important thing is to have someone in the waiting room with a notepad to write down what the doctor says & to give you the photos. If you have to, give them the notepad & insist they write down exactly what the doctor says. My mom did that for me & it really helped. I feel bad for people whose ride only tells them, "uh, the doctor said something, but I don't remember what it was...".
Wishing you better days soon!
