I have a question. Has anyone EVER taken any diet suppliments, or FAT burners? not just diet suppliments, anything with ephedra or munghung (sp), or guarna (sp), LARGE doses of pure caffine? Anything like that?
I was talking to my husband last night and he asked if I could post a question like this. I'm thinking that what I did in my early years has effected my IC. I was taking Xenerdrine (sp) EFX (without the ephedra) and that's when I started noticing problems with my bladder. Prior to that, I was always on some kind of fat burner. I think there might be a connection.
Any feed back I can get will help me. I am going to PM Katrina and ask her if she ever did a poll or had anyone ask this question.
PLEASE HELP.
Thank you.

Nope, never took any of that.
I suspect if that caused IC, there'd be a lot more of us in the urologist's waiting room.
My personal suspicion is that IC patients have some sort of vulnerability to IC and something tips the balance that wouldn't bother a "normal" person....

Thank you for your replies, it is much appreciated. I honestly think that the products I was taking did contribute some to my IC. I have some hefty researching to do. Thank you Katrina for giving me some very useful information. :)

babygirl694: I'm not 100 percent possitive, but I think that is an antibiotic called nitrofurantion-macro. The only reason I know this is because my URO just perscribed this for me after my last HYDRO, and I got a severe allergic reaction to it! This is to weird. I have never heard of the drug prior to this and now twice in one year? strange. :hmm:

I would call you DR. first. It was probably perscribed for some type of infection. Yeah...call your Dr. first, besides the perscription is 2 years old.

The medication you are referring to is Macrodantin, also known as Macrobid. It is classified as a urinary tract anti-infective used to treat UTI's.

macrobid landed me in the hospital for a week clinging to life. I now have to carry an Epipen just in case (shot of adrenaline). Its now the third antibiotic and the fifth drug that I've developed severe allergies to over the course of my IC treatment.
