Hi All -
I din`t know where to put this great news, so I am doing it here.
Information from Live Healthy Magazine, April 2005 :
"A vaccine that protects women from cervical cancer will be submitted for U.S.Food and Drug Administration approval later this year.
In study of 1,113 women ages 15-25, those who recived three shots of the vaccine were protected against persistant infection from the two types of
human papillomavirus /HPV/ infections that cause an estimated 70% of cervical-cancer cases. HPV infection spreads by skin-to-skin contact, often during sexual contact. For now, women should get annual Pap smears and inquire about an HPV test, which detects whether you have a high-risk strain
of the virus".
