I now have discomfort and slight pain when I urinate, not burning just twingy pain..it's been a week since I had the cysto done..it's not the usual UTI, or flare type pain either. Should I call the Dr. or just wait it out..I am taking Pyridium..
Any other experieinces with this? TIA!

i am pretty much going through the same thing (see post below), so you are not alone. i think it's probably normal, but i'm no expert. to me, anything that messes with my bladder (UTI, scope, sex, whatever) seems to make it worse. but i don't see how it could hurt to call the doctor's office. i'm sure you could just phrase it in a question to the nurse "is this normal." i'm sure she/he could probably give you a few encouraging words.

Heard from the Dr.'s asst. she told me, 1 week isn't usually normal to feel pains after surgery, etc. But, with IC you never know she said..
Anyways, she told me to take 3 days at least of Macrobid and the Pyridium Plus..I'm slightly nervous about it, I did take it 1/2 hour ago..waiting to see how I feel..slightly sleepy now..anyways, if it doesn't get better by Monday, I may need to go back in so they can check my urethra and make sure it's okay..wanted you to know..

I had pain for three weeks or so after the hydro--then no symptoms for six months. We are all different. :loco:

I developed a UTI immediately after my cysto/hydro procedure. It was also complicated by the soreness in the urethral area. Took me a few weeks to get rid of the UTI; after that things calmed down. liz

Is it common to have increased pain and/or frequency for some period of time with hydro.? I have had it in the past and do not remember but this time it has been a week and although the pain is much better the frequency and urgency is much worse. I remember getting total relief for months after having this done before. Does anyone think I will have this agian if I just give it some time. My doctor wants to quickly start DMSO treatments without waiting and I do not think this is a good idea. The last DMSO treatment I had made everything worse for a couple of months and perhaps permanently as I had the hydrodistention doen after the two months.

HELP,
