I'm looking at the natural supplements from the ICN Store. Has anyone tried these? anyone had success on these? I see my uroligist tomorrow, haven't really had a chance to do much research like I wanted cause been sick in bed with croup. And I'm leaning more towards natural treatment than medical prescriptions! So if anyone has any success with anything natural please let me know! And if anyone has any good articles, or sites or anything explaining about how these treatments help IC that would be great too! Thank you! ~Rachel

HI Rachel:

I have used both CystaQ and Cystoproteck now and they both seem to work for me. The Desert Harvest capsules seem to work for a number of people also. It is very important that you ask your physician about taking these in combination with the medications that you are on. CystaQ has some ingredients that could interact with medications, including sleep medications. That doesn't mean it is bad, it just means you would likely take the CystaQ and drop the others.

Again.............your doctor is in the best position to recommend something that works. If you can, print out the ingredient labels from their websites!

Good luck!

Julie

I haven't tried many alternative treatments recently because DMSO is pretty well controlling my symptoms.

However, one thing I do know is that no product is sold in the ICN Shop without it first being carefully reviewed for safety and effectiveness.

The capsules have a number of ingredients that are known to bolster the GAG layer, so I'm not surprised that a number of IC'ers here have reported good results from these products.

The CystaQ seems to work more on the nerves and has anti-inflammatory effects, the Cystoprotek has the anti-inflammatory properties but also includes substances that are elements in the GAG layer of the bladder. Both have research behind them. I think there are links right under the supplement explanations in the store: Alternatives (http://icnshop.com/cgi-bin/ustorekeeper.pl?command=goto&file=Alternatives.html&rtn=jb)
