Estrogen Creams as treatment?

Has anyone's doctor ever recommended vaginal estrogen creams (like Estrace) to aid in the treatment of IC? Have they been effective?

:welcome: to the ICN! I have not heard of that as treatment for IC. Although it is something to think about. Many have tried hormone treatments...myself on Lupron I was much better...so not sure how I would feel about a estrogen cream. I hope someone can answer better though.

I have "heard" of it being used to ease the urethra pain that goes with IC. Havn't tried it yet though....

I've been given Estrace cream to help with vulvar irritation and it does seem to be somewhat calming to the urethra.
