I haven't posted in quiet some time, no real reason just too lazy & tired.I still have been having a look through the posts every now & then just not posting. Which I fell a bit slack about because we are all here to support each other & I haven't been helping much in that way. Sadley I cannot say it's because my IC is any better ( thats why I'm still sitting here at 3am)
I did start to see a natropath a few weeks ago & once again hopping for a miricule cure, but it's a bit early to tell yet. In general I was feeling a little better, having a bit more energy as he is treating me for cronic fatiuge as well, with all these herbs & powders that are the most awful tasting thing you could ever imange. But even if it doesn't help with the ic & does help a bit with fatiuge I'd be grateful for that.
Having a couple of crappy nights, retaing a bit & it's causing sooo much pain, but this hasen't happened for a while so I should'nt complain too much.

Anyway I just wanted to say HI to everyone ( A big hello to all my Aussie friends) & I have missed catching up with you all, so I should be droping back in more often.
ONce again excusse the grammer it is 3am over here. HA HA

Rosealie , Sarah & Kirestin sorry I haven't caught up with you much, dealing with alot of personal stuff here, but will be trying to be droppin in more often.
Take care

We all know that feeling and it is well understood...sometimes, no matter how good or bad your IC is, you just have very little to say. When I feel like that I tend to take computer breaks in general.

Last year I was gone from about May, through my daughters graduation and then no computer until the end of September. It was wonderful and I actually survived with out it. I read so much more and just spent lots of time at the beach and seeing friends. Can't wait until May.....be here when it suits you, trust me you won't miss much. It's a good refresher course in chronic anything............especially chronic message boards. ;)

Andrea I hope you are feeling better now. Breaks are definitely a good thing for the mind to refresh itself. So now that you are back, I hope to see you around the boards........ :grouphug:

Andrea... :)

No need to apologize. You have nothing to feel sorry about. Breaks are sometimes a must for our own health and well being. Glad to hear from you and take it easy on yourself. :)

Nice to hear from you both Andrea and Sara. I haven't been around much either. Luckily I hadn't been having much problem with the Urethritis until today!
I'd been busy getting kids back to school and uni.
My daughter Hilary made her deb last Friday. It seems to be coming back into vogue although some of her friends refused to do it because of the old fashioned connotations.
Hillz reckoned it was a good reason to dress up, tote a good looking guy on your arm and PARTY!!. We also had a great night. It was probably the over-indulgence in wine and food that caused the flare up today.
Andrea, I too, am having great difficulties with sleeping. It's driving me nuts! I don't know if its the urethritis or menopause or a combination of both.
I had the best time on the 10th. I saw Greenday in concert at Rod Laver arena. FANTASTIC! I felt bit chronologically challenged there (I was old enough to be mother to most of the audience) But I didn't care. At least I knew all the words to all their songs!

Anyway, its great to be on the boards again and I hope we hear from Nadia, Kirsten and George soon.

Rosalie, OMG I can not belive you seen Green Day live I am so jealous!!!! That would be awsome. I love Music & live shows but being here in Mildura you never get the chance much & I never had the money. We had Grinspoon play at a town a couple of hours away from us last weekend would have love to seen them too. I'm affraid my taste in music tends to lead to the heavier type of bands. My fav band is Pearl Jam, I seen them live in Adelaide once but missed the last tour, Can be sure I will go next time no matter how old or broke I am.
I was going to send you a PM & catch up it has been a while. Justin & I are comming to Melbourne on the 1st of April for a work thingy. I won't complain though all paid for... Flights, accomodation & some big swish function at the Casnio on the Saturday night. We are thinking we might go to the football on the Friday night, If we can get seats on the end of the row so I have loo access when I need it. There is nothing worse than having to push past a heap of people every half an hour when you are somewhere like that.
Anyway I won't ramble on here but will send you a PM for a chat. Good to here from you.
Talk to you later
Andrea

Hi Andrea
Yes Indeed it was awesome! Don't miss out when they come back.
Grinspoon are a favourite of mine as well. The lead singer studied music at Uni with Hillz saxophone teacher. She reckons he was always a bit odd (probably too much wacky tobacky) and out there.
I could eat John Butler! Yum! and Incubus are great but my most fav after Greenday are Rancid. However, if they ever came out here, I doubt that I could fit into their audience unless I had a Mohawk and about twenty more piercings. Hmmm..... it could be worth it!

I am in the land of living. I haven't disappeared, I have been popping in now and then, but mostly reading posts. Have had huge flares of Endometrios which has caused my IC to flare and my IBS. YUK. I just cant win. I have now started taking the pill to stop the monthlies and be pain free, well Endo wise anyway. I did that before I got married and was Endo pain free for 2 years.

I have been chatting to Sara almost daily. She is like a sister to me and I would be lost without her. It certainly has made living with all these conditions alot easier.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while in this section. Will try and pop in more. Just have to get over this flu.

Incase I dont get back on soon, Happy Easter everyone. :bunny:

Hi guys :grouphug:

I haven't been around much lately either - my excuse is the first 4 weeks of semester, which always does my head in (SO busy!!!!) and on top of that I've been house hunting which has been pretty stressful (have to leave current rented abode as the owner wants to move in). Needless to say the IC hasn't liked the stress and so have had a bit more pain recently. But have found a place and am moving this weekend to a lovely place with nice trees and lots of space for my new kitty, Charlotte, who I adopted from a shelter 2 weeks ago. So I won't be able to check the boards much in the next week as I move and unpack (how I hate that part!!!) but will be back soon.

Rosalie, glad you had fun at Green Day! Haven't been to a show in a couple of years but back in my youth (ha!) was a regular gigger. Andrea, am also in the 'heavier' stuff, Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson among the faves but also like 80s and electronica too. Andrea hope you have a lovely time in Melb on your fancy trip, sounds very classy indeed! And have you got a new keyboard yet Sara? Hope you are well too...

I've missed chatting to you guys :grouphug: but glad to know I'm not the only one who's been a little AWOL lately - must be the time of year or something like that.... Hope you all had a nice Easter break and had a little bit of time off to yourselves.

Take care everyone, speak soon!

Hey there friends from Down Under--
Anyone for Erasure, Love and Rockets, INXS and the like? I love 80's music and am very jealous about that Green Day concert. I completely understand the oldest person in the crowd thing, although my hubby and I last New Years(2004)saw Styx and REO Speedwagon and I think we were the youngest people in there! Except of course for the 15 year old that was sitting with her parents next to us that got dragged there by her parents.

Hugs,
Barb

OK, Just tried to pm you and it says your inbox is too full to receive my message. So I'm posting it here ( I just cut and pasted it if it seems a bit odd), hoping to hear from you before you come to Melbourne on the weekend. You must be very popular Andrea!

"Dear Andrea
I've just read your post about your trip to the ER. You poor thing. I am so sorry that you had to go through so much and right on Easter when you should be able to enjoy a break.
I was excited to hear that you were coming to Melb and intended meeting up with you. I had a quick look at my mail Monday evening but didn't have time to reply at the time. I thought I would try to think of something nice for us to do and pm you the next day.
However, I have had a sore right foot for a few weeks but put it down to excessive walking on the treadmill. Ha! I was trying to get fit and lose some weight..serves me right! Anyway, I went to the Docs on Tuesday and after an xray, he says I have Freibergs Infraction Disease ( some crazy disease usually only found in teenagers!) and will need to be in a cast about six months. Oh Yeah, I am just having way too much fun! Thanks Doc!
For the moment, I am in a removable contraption that looks like a moon boot, so I can at least have a shower and sleep without the cast. If this is working (should know in about two weeks) I can get away with using it for the six months. However, if it doesn't, then its plaster. I don't want that. yuck!
So now I can't drive and I'm having difficulty learning to walk in the blessed thing.
Just as well my son Campbell drives and is on his mid semester break from Uni. He took me to the Orthotics place in Richmond yesterday to have the thing fitted and has promised to help as much as possible.Hmmm! - 19year old with social life ...we'll see!
I'm still hoping that there will be some way I can get into town on the weekend so if you have a mobile can you give me the number? I hope I can arrange for someone to drop me in and pick me up, lord knows, I've been doing it for them for years.
Anyway, bring some photos of Cohen in case we can. I have the photos from Hillz deb I'd love to show off.
Looking forward to hearing from you
love Rosalie"

Hey Barb,
I would have thought that you had more opportunities to see Greenday than over here. They tour the states quite regularly don't they? I'm a bit jealous about that. Love INXS as well. However my 16year old daughter is very happy that she has finally found two groups that I don't like listening to very much: Hole (Courtney Love) and Distillers.. lead singer of which is an ex Melbourne girl. Needless to say, these are turned up as loud as the EPA will allow. Don't tell her, but I really don't mind that much.
I also love listening to the "Oldies" radio stations. Being a seventies and eighties product, I'ts great to sing along and reminisce about those wonderful days.

Hi Babs and Rosalie,

I also must admit to an addiction to the 'oldies' radio stations that play the 70s and 80s stuff... great for an embarassing singalong in the car!

Babs - my partner will be very jealous you saw REO Speedwagon live. I have "Can't Fight this Feeling" as her ringtone on my mobile/cell phone (she is addicted to love songs....) so everytime she rings I get that lovely piano part at the start....

It can't be any worse than the theme song to the Battlestar Galactica tv show that I put on my cell because my hubby LLOOOOVVVEESS that show.

Kirsten,I love kittens... all animals obviously but very soft spot for kitties :-) Good on you for adopting a homeless one. I have 4 lovely cats, all so called "unwanted strays!" :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat:

Hi Sara,

I too am a big 'cat' person. Charlotte is actually 2 & 1/2 - wanted an adult cat anyway and everyone seems to adopt the kittens from the shelters! I wish I'd seen her as a kitten but when she bites me playfully I can start to imagine (covered in marks but loving it!)

Good luck with the Animal Lib gig - you'll be great!

My mobile ringtone is Blink 182 Girl at the Rock Show. Really wanted Greenday but can't get one for my phone.
I also love Bodyjar, Jet, Jimmy Eat World, Veruca Salt and I am warming up to Slipknot.

Two days stuck in the house with this cast and already its driving me nuts. I can see that within a few weeks I'll be taking it off to drive. I'll probably be better when I learn to walk in it. Boo Hoo What a whinger!

Hi Rosalie,
I am so sorry I didn't get your message I will have to check my P.M box & clear it ( sorry to Nadia would have love to get your message, I will clear it today & you can try again if you like) Rosalie I was so busy at the last miniute getting things ready for the trip & organizing things here for Mum & Dad to have Cohen on the weekend I forgot to even look at the computer & check any messages. :bonk: I feel like such a twit...... I would have love to have caught up with you. Don't worry next time I will make sure it happens. Your poor thing & your leg, it must be a real pain in the a*#* not being able to get around properly, as you say as if you don't have enough to worry about let alone something else going wrong health wise. Did you say you will be in that thing for 6 months?????? Quiet a few years ago I snapped the Lateral Ligement ( spelling?) in my right ankel & had to be in plaster for 3 months & on crutches for about 6 months ( for some reason it took along time to get strenght back in my ankle) What a night mare!!!!!
You must be the cooliest mum in town I don't think I have even heard of half the music you like :biglaugh: I was so peed REM were playing in Melbourne on Sunday night but we had to fly back in the afternoon. Would have been good to see.
Anyway instead of wrighting a short story on the main boards like I usally do & bored anyone to death with my rambleing I will send you a pm.
Take Care
Andrea.

P.s great to here from you Kirstein. good luck with the move. What part of Melbourne are you. MY cousin & his guy just moved in to a new appartment in Spencer street. He was telling me at Christmas what great taste they both have & what a funcky appartment it will be. For some reason gay guys seem to have real great tase when it comes to home decorating. They are both trendy little fellows so I'm sure it would be pretty cool. He's another one I ment to catch up with on the weekend but didn't get around too. Ah well next time.

Hi Andrea,

Glad you had fun in Melbourne - me, spent the whole weekend moving and unpacking, which I detest with a passion. Have just moved to Burwood East, lovely and suburban and quiet (I'm a bit of a nanna and love my peace and quiet).

It seems so true that gay men get good taste for decorating as part of the deal - unfortunately it doesn't always extend to lesbians as both me and my girlfriend are always compaining about our own lack of fashion sense and home decorating style - and we are both addicted to all those home and person makeover shows!! I need the Queer Eye guys to come and make *me* over!!!!

A big hello to everyone else too, Rosalie hope your leg is feeling a little better. Sara hope you are well too!

Hey guys, im new to these boards, and from australia. Anyone here from brissy? either way, Its good to find people from here who know whats available for ic and what not. Anything good over the counter? i dont see my uro till JULY of all things, and the ditropan my gp prescribed, is causing more aches, and probs than help. So forget that. Anything that'll help manage it, i know this isnt the thread for that, but like i said those who know whats available here in australia, might be able to help me better. Much appriecated. I've tried urinary alkilnizers, and such, they help enuff, but not the best.

Hello Jelly and :welcome:

The more Aussies the better! You will find great help and info here. Check out the IC Handbook. It has the best advice. I have Urethral Syndrome but it is a bit like IC and what works for IC works for me.
Apart from the meds, two things I found on this site that have helped enormously are BiCarb soda in water, tastes yuck but works great ( better than Ural) and my donut cushion. I got one from the chemist.
A beaut place is the "venting " thread - great for those days when some needs a blast!
My younger brother lived in Brissy for ten years but has now moved to Caboulture. He has the Ford dealership there, so if you need to be ripped off....only kidding ...Sorry stinky! er I mean Geoff. My hubbys a bananabender as well, from Allora.
Looking forward to hearing more of your story.
Doesn't Jelly melt in QLd? Ha Ha.. Oops sorry, no rain jokes thanks!
