Got my results from my cysto/hydro from last Tuesday last night, including my biospy results.
It doesn't show anything much, some slight edema and rare mast cells..
Pretty boring reading the Dr. said..HaHa..
But, they're treating it as IC she said.
She told me it's a very complicated disease and they just treat the symptoms as they come along..they believe me!
We decided on antihistimines (Chlortrimetron during the day and Benadryl at night) Pyridium and Pyridium Plus and since I've had Uti's before, Nitrofurantion as needed post coital.
We didn't go with any Elavil or Elmiron since she said they aren't truly sure how it works with IC, the hypothesis being that is coats the bladder, yet it takes so long to work number one and many patients it doesn't help at all..
I am beside myself with relief here..
I have no major tangible symptoms ei: ulcers, pinpoint bleeding or mast cells but they believe my symptoms and are treating me..
I am overjoyed..wanted to share! :) :grouphug:

Yeah, I am so happy for you. Believe me, I know how you feel about being happy you just got diagnosed with an incurable disease!!! However, not knowing what is wrong is worse than anything, in my opinion. I felt like I was crazy and even began to think I was making myself hurt or something!! My grandfather is a doctor and I remember he told me doctors are supposed to assume the worst and work backwards, not assume the best and then be suprised by how bad it is!! I dont think docs today know this though.
I am happy to hear you are doing well though. How was the pain from the procedure??
Love Sarah

Honestly, I didn't have much pain afterwards..they did give me Tylenol 3's which I reacted too..I had such awful stomach pains..
the only problem was the catheter which they left in since I had a biopsy done..and now I am having pain in my urethra when I pee.. although, they did tell me to take the pyridium 3X a day for 10 days, and I haven't been following that, I do notice now that I took it the pain is gone, so I guess I have to follow those instructions..
Thanks for asking about me..
Other than that, my symptoms of urgency, etc. have abated for now..but, my flare time (monthly cycle) is approaching, we'll see about it then.
