 Hi, just wondered if anyone with CFS & fibromyalgia in addition to I.C. has had any success (or failure) with the Guaifenesin protocol. I've only just started it (without any medical supervision because there isn't anyone who does it here in the U.K.).

Dr. St. Amand thinks that our bladder irritation is caused by crystals scraping our bladder neck. Whatever 's causing it, the maddening irritation hardly ever allows me to sleep & is driving me to absolute despair. :toilet:

I briefly (about 3 months) tried guaifenesin for Fibromyalgia, but it did not seem to make much of a difference, just made me pee more and increased my bladder pain a bit. One of the problems with it and IC, is that the guaifenesin diet is even more restrictive than the IC diet, so you end up with nothing (literally) to eat.

This was just my experience and, like I said, I was not able to completely following the diet restrictions associated with guaifenesin.
Good luck!
