Ok, a personal question....here goes....
Does anyone seem burning rectally...like when you pass gas or during a bowel movement with diarhia (spelling?). Anyone feel like acid burn on skin of vulva after a bowel movement. It seems like I have almost diahrrea a lot and that causes VV pain/vaginal burning. Maybe too much psyllium husk? Ughh.

Hi. I know....so personal!
I have the exact same problem you describe. I have IBS, IC, and VV rolled into one body. Arrrgh! I've had several 5+ month bouts of mild diarrhea with the accompanying burning. I suspect it's a malabsorption in the gut (of bile or something equally irritating).

After bouncing around the traditional medical system without relief, I've started seeing a gyn. who deals with diet, allergies, alternative stuff. She's testing me for celiac, food allergies, and the like. We'll see what happens.

In the meantime, I've been taking Culturelle brand lactobacillus 2 times / day with some good results.

My guess is that it is not the psyllium husk, though you could experiment with stopping and starting your regiment.

Have you tried using a protective ointment? I use Unpetroleum Jelly, found at stores like Whole Foods. It dramatically eases the burning and forms a protective barrier too. You can apply anywhere you need it. It's natural, free of perfumes and dyes and has no irritating preservatives. And it's got staying power. I use it on my vulva too.

Have you found anything that helps?

I was going to suggest to you petroleum jelly for the protective barrier to help ease your symptoms. I never heard of unpetroleum jelly but sounds like a good idea if th petroleum makes you flare.
