Hello everyone, I called my doctor again yesterday and I asked him if he would perscribe me Ditropan XL. When I got to pick up the medicine it was $105.00 for 30 tablets :hmm: My Boyfriend could not believe it. I have no insurance so that didn't help, but I sure hope this medicine will help  because it sure was costly. :hmm:

My doc gave me the regular ditropan, not the XL --just for the cost factor alone. Granted, I gotta remember to take 3 a day, but I take it when I take my elmiron. For the month supply, it runs me 20.20. I would have liked to gone to just one a day, but the cost was too much for me to ignore. I have had my share of pharmacy shocks too!! Especially when I first got my elmiron filled, I almost fainted! LOL

I always try to use Costco... you don't have to be a member to use the pharmacy. Just tell them at the door that you are using the pharmacy and they let you right in... I find that 99% of the time, they have MUCH lower prices. I agree with using the regular Ditropan, as opposed to XL... You may have to take 2-3 a day, but it's still way cheaper since you can get the Generic. Here's the Costco info... Good Luck!

This medication made NO difference in my frequency to the bathroom...and for the price if it had helped I would have continue taking it...despite the price....

it is now sept 2005 and i gave it a try again...actually I had such cotton mouth and felt dehydrated that I made about twenty or more trips to the bathroom which is about ten more for me than normal...as I kept trying to quence my thirst.

Discuss the price with your dr and let him know that you do not have insurance. I have a wonderful dr that knows that my 23 prescriptions monthly are outrageous even with a copay and he gives me samples of ditropan. Also, check some of the websites to see if they have a patient assistance program.

I had a strange situation today with oxybutin (generic non-long acting ditropan)
I got my scrip filled and the balance was 0.00!
Neither my pharmacist nor I could figure it out why the medication was free.
I haven't tried it yet!

I work in a doctor's office and know for a fact that the company hands out samples of that stuff right and left....call your doctor and ask them for samples (free!) or have them call the company directly and ask a rep to stop by and give them samples for you. Most offices do it all the time.....good luck!
