today was as easy as I anticipated but I sould have known most things dont go sooo smooth for me.. I was scheduled at 11:20 and got in operating room at 2:30 I am finally home boy was I starving and thirsty since I go no per op papers I thought I could not eat or drink .. so I became quit hungry and thirsty.. While on the table I was told to let them know if I feels any pain. Dumb me thought they would be upset or think I was complaining and boy I let out a huge yell and started crying the doctor said I told you to let me know.. it hurt like heckk.. my blood pressure sky rocketed I really didnot like being awake.. but its over and I am home with my leg bandaged and in a foot shoe. Its throbbing and soar gotta stay off it for a week. But I am doing good. I have my pre op with gyn tomorrow morning for hysterectomy then its home to rest up till next week I have preop at hospital and see the plastic surgeon on tuesday for my leg.

I will never take my legs for granted again not that I did before but I feel useless my poor family they are going hide from me soon its very difficult to get up espically with a IC bladder gotta go all the time.Hard getting around with this leg all swollen almost 2 times the size of my other leg and wrapped like the whole leg is its crazy ouchhhhh... My father has type II diabetic and had both legs amputated he gets around great I have great admiration for him..I can never imagine what he or others go through every day..

Hi Kelly:
I was just wondering how you were doing since your surgery?
Did you have to have a skin graft?
I had melanoma on the bottom of my foot, (my mole was really little, about the size of a pencil eraser) anyway, I had to have a skin graft (took the skin from my butt).
It has been 10 yrs. I still go once a yr to my oncologist for a checkup. He does a chest x-ray and blood work (plus a physicial).
Hope your doing ok :)

Last and this morning it was extremely painful I was having to take pain meds every 3 hours. Awakening like clock work.. Last night we noticed my toes were quit swollen and my pain was coming from ankle area. it felt like a knife was cutting through my leg. We thought it was odd because the incision area was minimal pain. Behind the leg just below knee area is where incision was. Doctor said my whole leg could swell but be gosh it was unremarkable pain. We took off all the bandages and ace wraps and gauze 6 bandages and 2 pads plus gauze and low and behold my ankle area had some form of allergic reaction and was cut with blisters... I am much better now with all that wrapping off we covered the incision part up again and put some polysporin on the cut around ankle much better. I did not have to have skin graft.. My origianl biopsy incision had 6 stitches not sure how many this has but area they marked for second incision is about the size of a egg little longer but width wise. I have 3 more moles that need to be removed april 5th and then they said I need to have a visit every 3 months to check skin over carefully.
