Fir the second time in less then 2 years I am destroying my house. I hate my carpet and bought Hardwood flooring 3 weeks ago, with hubby saying I'll get right on that. Yeah right!!! So today i have ripped up my carpet and padding pulled off all the staple are pulled out, all he has to do is move the monster fish tank and I will have it done. He has no choice but to do it. ohh by the way he wasn't happy about the project either :biglaugh:

Leslie...Goodness, you sure have a lot of energy. Why don't you come to Memphis and help us work on our house? We have a lot of trim that needs painting. :D

LOL I just hate it when he tells me he will do something and blows me off. So if I start the mess he has no choice but to fix it. I did this 2 years ago, I ripped up the same carpets, wallpaper, kitchen lineolium, and bought a new fridge. Then he had to fix it the way i wanted it after 2 years of "honey I will'
So as we speak they are laying my hardwood floors. The thing is, I did this all with an infant here all day, but he can't keep the baby AND load the dishwasher. Go Figure.

leslie to funny, I am the same way. If you want something done you gotta start the mess then have them finish it lol otherwise its all talk with no action.

this weekend we will be ripping out carpert in 3 rooms in the front half of the house and then at the same time I will be ripping wall paper off the back of the house. So we will have a mess through out the entire house.

So I just wanted to say you go girl!!!

Leslie, I have to laugh...you sound just like me. Whenever I want my husband to start a project around the house, I start it myself and then he feels like he has to finish it! Although, it can backfire! I got sick of the carpeting on our stairs so I spent an afternoon tearing out the carpet, padding and staples. We finally got around to recarpeting, but I had to put up with a plywood stairway for 6 months! I think he was just waiting me out to teach me a lesson! ;)

It does backfire. I was sloppy painting the hallway, yet again. This was the 5th color in less than 4 years. We planned on putting new crown molding up. But now hubby is slow to find someone to do it!! And I'm tired of looking at it! :)
He figured out that I did a sloppy mess on parts of the ceiling to get the molding quicker........and, well, it's not finished yet.

Stas-glad you are getting your floors done. That is my next big project. Tearing out parkay hardwood and putting down regular hardwood. I just dread it. I've been told you have to rent this machine to do it. And I don't want to think about the dusty mess!! What was I thinking when I wanted a house to "re-do"???

I think you went the right way changing the carpet for hardwood. Cause you can always remove stained area rugs instead of bothering with the whole she bang! ;)

WOW! I am jealous. We still have 1 room to go but two rooms and the steps are complete with the staples and taking up. I am looking forward to the hardwood floors to get refinished. I think hardwood is so pretty. Still have a ways to go though since I have to take down the wallpaper now in those rooms. We got a quote today to have someone do it because with the hubby gone all the time and me pregnant there are some hard to reach areas that I can not climb to get. Well I swear that guy was smoking crack because it would cost us more to get theh wall paper down and paint those rooms then it will be to re-finish the hardwood floors. So I guess I have to have patience LOL
