Our dog is a diabetic

we just found out that our 13 year old golden is a diabetic, his seizures, and stokes are from being a diabetic. We changed vets and she found this out on the first visit. For 3 years we have just been treating it as seizures and now know what it really is. We are trying light karo syrup twice a day and for his littel seizure tyoe episodes, if that doesn't work then we willl have to move to insulin injections. He really has perked up though since yesterday getting the doses of karo syrup. I hope this works.

That's great. I know it won't be easy to deal with, but much better than thinking of losing him.

Glad hes perking up. :) I just lost my little guy this past January (my cocker spaniel Romeo, we just called em ro) after 14 1/2 yrs of epilepsy and a heart murmur. Makes me smile when I hear something good such as this, to hear your poochie is responding in a positive manner!!! :) I hope your dog continues to do better everyday.
