HI all,
I'm thinking of starting a support group in the SF Bay Area (Hayward area). I just got the info packet from the ICA on how to start a support group.

Two questions:
1. Anyone interested?
2. Anyone have suggestions on things that worked well when starting a support group?

Thanks:)

Hi Kadi,

I'm the support group leader up here in the North Bay and have been for the past 12 years. There have been a number of groups in the south bay area but none have survived for longer than a few years, at most. I think it's a great idea... and would be happy to help if I can.

Jill :)

Uh oh, no Bay Area responses. Does that mean I'm the only one here???

I just moved to Santa Cruz and am looking for a support group down here. If I don't find one I am thinking that I will have to travel towards SF to find one! I'm not familiar with the area yet, so how far are you from SC?

To here (Castro Valley/Hayward), about an hour and a half (during off-traffic hours). Currently the closest meeting to here (and I believe Santa Cruz also) is in Santa Rosa, about 1-1/2 hours north of here. It meets 2x a year.

I'm thinking of a Sat. morning meeting 4 times a year.

Being that the response hasn't been overwhelming, I figure I'll start this in the summer when I have more time (I'm a teacher).

If you'd like to talk to someone local, PM me:)
