Had the cath out this morning. Didn't hurt too much. But i am on a search for yet another uro. My husband and I overheard the girls in the office saying how the doc locked himself in his office when I came in. Then after the nurse took the cath out, she tells me if you have trouble urinating again you will have to go to the ER because the doctor is out of town. Why don't you just tell me to my face he doesn't want to deal me? Why lie? I cannot believe these doctors lie and have their staff lie for them. Before IC I used to be a medical assistant and I would never work for a doctor that wanted me to lie. I wanted to go back to his office and give him a piece of my my mind and my foot :cussing: If anyone reading this knows of a good uro in the East/Central area of FLorida please let me know, I am in desperate need of a new uro. :help: Thanks.
Big Hugz,
Danielle

I am glad you were able to get the cath out. It does sound like you need to find a new one. I would never go to a Dr. who pulled a stunt like that.

Please write a letter to that doctor and his staff to let him know what you overheard. Don't let them get away with that - let them know you busted them on it. That is just AWFUL.....

I am glad you'll be getting a different uro. :kissing:

Before you do or say anything to them, get a copy of your medical records from them first. I was quite shocked at some of the things written in my records (by the doctor who misdiagnosed me & was then probably afraid I'd sue her) and decided never to forward them to another doctor.

I would definitely let the doctor know what you overheard --- the fact that your husband heard it too is extra validation for you. You may be surprised at the response.

Sending gentle hugs,
Donna

Dani,
My dad has a wonderful urologist in Melbourne. I'm not sure exactly where you live in relation to that, but both my mom and dad think he rocks. He is associated with the Cleveland Clinic as well and my parents credit him with saving most of my dad's kidney due to cancer and my dad has been cancer free for 4 years in June.

PM or e-mail me if you want this guy's name and phone number.

Hugs,
Barb :)

I agree that you need to write a letter to them or go in and make sure they know that you heard them say that, and that hubby heard it too. I would tell him that he is extremely unproffesional and that you will not be coming back to see a medical professional who doesn't even have the courage to face a patient. This is absolutly unacceptable. I would also complain to the AMA, the NEws, everyone i could. He could have endangered your health with this crap, all because he is a baby???? STUPID!!!
Are you feeling better now??? I hope so. I am sure you are ecstatic to have the cath out!!

Yes I have the cath out and it feels great although sometimes I still feel like its taped to my leg. LOL Another thing my husband heard him say is :after my cysto he went in to get a script for pain meds because at the surgery center, he wrote it under the wrong person's name. So the uro was ****** that he take 2 minutes and write another one (even though it was his mistake) and my husband overheard him say to one of the office staff:"all she wants is drugs" I do get pain meds from my pain specialist, but I did not want to use that medicine for the procedure pain and run out.

Danielle,
OMG, you poor thing! I don't think I could EVER be convinced to go to this Uro again. I mean if he is going to talk nasty about the patients, at least wait until they are gone to do it!! Plus, I think that what he did is against the law, I don't think they can discuss stuff like that in public spaces??? Not sure. Anyway, you really need a much more compassionate doctor, one who doesn't talk aobut you negatively. Is your pain mostly gone from the hydro?? I hope you are feeling better than I am, still under the weather.

Hi Sarah,
I am on the search for a new uro. I was feeling better from the procedure. But last nite I thought I was recovered enough for me an hubby to be intimate. Big Mistake. It flared everything up again. And the thing is I can either bear the pain and try to take care of my daughter or take my pain meds (really really strong stuff) and be a zombie and have to have someone else take care of her. I don't know about you, but this disease is slowly destroying me. I have no zest for life anymore. I try and try to push myself to find some reason to go on, but I just am running out of strength. The didtentions usually help so much, but this time I don't know it just made it worse. Anyway, I will be praying for you, that your body will start to heal and you feel better.
Love,
Danielle
