:woohoo: My husband and I were actually able to both enjoy "it" last night. This is the first time in years PFD has allowed him to enter me but lastnight Lidocaine helped bring back something that I wasn't sure could ever happen again. After IC pain, Endo pain, and then PFD keeping me from being able to really have intercourse and enjoy it really was seeming like a mirracle was needed. Well thank the Lord one came!!!!!!!
I put in a lot of effort to have my pelvic musscles as relaxed as possible....heat, moisture, rest, and a topical analgesic that I started about an hour previous. I took my pain meds and AZO standard (since IC isn't gone just improved). Than we put lidocaine on me and on him. SUCCESS! I couldn't believe it (and neither could he). It was the first time in a long time I didn't scream let alone enjoy it! (go ahead laugh)
Well my husband's birthday is the 9th and he thinks he will have good one. Oh I want to have a party or fly or something to express what a huge improvement and how thankful I am.
Man, why didn't my doctor recommend this when my PFD was first diangosed??

Oh yes! My husband is ammazing....and he has kept more faith that this would happen for us again than I have. He is a great blessing as well!
I'm going to have to try out some of your techniques! Thanks for sharing!
Did any symptoms flare up in the first few days after the act?

So far the only problem I had was after he left me. (I think some of the lidocaine left me) and trying to go to the bathroom afterwards was a bit more painful....but I put the wash cloth that had the lidocaine back on me and used heat and was able to fall asleep. By morning all was well and my night was normal for me. My PFD usually makes me too tight for any enterence ... the lidocaine really helped on relaxing me. It did hurt a bit afterwards but my doc thinks that he can find me a gel that will stick around better. (saw family doc today) My husband had is used to avoiding my bladder during sex....my urethra was only minorly bothered since I took medicine plenty beforehand....and neither complained today! :) I was actually worse yesterday with no sex prior lol

Amazing how much better life seems when you're able to enjoy being intimate with your partner/spouse! Glad to hear some good news -- I know you've had a lot of health issues to deal with, but at least maybe this is some kind of breakthrough. Enjoy! ;)

Wish my hubby wanted to do it. He hates me so much because I cost him so much in medical bills, he won't even come near me. But happy for all of you!!!

Sorry Katrina to use your post for this but I cannot get Teresa to respond to me. We used to talk all the time. I miss her terribly. I have sent her 2 pm's ans she won't respond and I don't know why. I am very upset. I just want her to see this so she will at least tell me why she desn;t want to talk to me anymore.

Katrina, that's great, I'm so happy for you! I hope I have the same luck when my boyfriend comes into town on the 22nd, because I just had a hydro and things haven't been going so well. I haven't been able to do anything for quite some time, so maybe I can try what you did an have some success! It's comforting to hear others can get through this. I'm lucky I have an understanding boyfriend too, even though I'm only 19 and he lives in another state! Good for you again, hope it continues! :woohoo:

That's so great, Katrina. I suffer from the same problems (PFD especially) and your post has given me hope. :)
