Hi everybody! I'm sure someone has posted a message like this in this category before... but can IC inflame all the way done through the vagina? The past few weeks I have been flaring and I have been so tight "down there" that my fiancee can't get in... he says it's like all my muscles are all swollen. I don't understand... Any advice is appreciated!

Well maybe you have PFD. That would be a perfect description of PFD is like with sex. IC can cause PFD (Pelvic floor disfunction) and a flare of IC may bother it. I have read of IC causing vaginal pain...but tight is what PFD basically did to me exactly! I hope you feel better!

Thank you! I will have to look up more info on the website about PFD... Though I hate to think someone else went through what I am... it is comforting to know that I'm not alone in this. I will ask my new uro about this when I go in Apr.1 (so far away!!!).

:grouphug: ya. People have talked about physical therapy on this site which you can look into trying things people have said while you wait for the appointment. What it takes for me is dialators...slowly working your way up to the normal size. Also messages and excersizes. I hope you get the help and have a lot of success!!!
oK-here is a silly question. Can you have PFD if you have had a TAH? I have had the same symptoms Megan has had lately but never thought about it because of my hysterectomy...

The same thing can happen when you are in perimenopause which starts in late 30s. I dont know how old you are. But the vaginal walls loose elasticity as you age. I have had the same problem myself and just use K Y jelly.

THANKS for all the help. It is so great to have a place where I can talk to women about this. My girlfriends don't understand and it is always sooooo long between doctors appointments. I am only 23 so I HOPE my vaginal walls aren't losing elasticity!!! :) This was a problem for me about a year ago for about a month... then it went away... a few weeks ago I used a new kind of lube (it's called "Wet" and is silicone based... should have stayed away...) and I have been flaring and "closed up" since. Katrina... if you have any links for physical therapy exercises, send them my way! :)
