Hi Katrina
I dont know if you remember me,I havent written in a long time. It's funny that march is endo month since Iv'e just been diagnosed with endo 2 days ago from my lap.A week before I had a cystoscopy done to see if cystitis cystica came back but all he found was a really red bladder. He poked around in there touching differt parts of the bladder to see which areas are more painful. Is there a specific reason for that?He also diagnosed me with urethral syndrome and pelvic floor dysfunction. He thinks I have ic and wanted to wait to do a biopsy. He said if I wanted to see my first urologist who works out town of I could since he does hydrodistention.Which do you think is more accurate? Thanks katrina or anyone else responding to this post.Thanx to allof you I have already prepared myself enough emotionally for these diadnoses before hand and am not falling apart.Rather I feel more enabled to handle this with information and suppot when I need it.THANK-YOU Jenny

:hi: Jenny, I think a gyno may touch around in your bladder to help a later search for endo in the bladder. Just a guess though...one other reason is if some areas look like they may be developing ulcers...either way...sounds so painful I wouldn't be thrilled with the idea. A in office cystoscopy is not a diagnostic tool for IC. Only a hydrodistention cystoscopy or a potassium test are at this time. Either way an illimination of other possible causes of symptoms is part of the process.
The hydrodistention cystoscopy at least can also be seen as a treatment and a diagnostic tool.
I have PFD too....:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I am sorry you have gotten so many diagnosises at once.
Let me know if there is anything more I can do for you.
