North Alabama IC

I am pretty newly diagnosed with IC. I've gone through a bladder sling operation and a hysterectomy in the last 6 months because the doctors didn't know what was going on. I have finally gotten a little relief with DMSO and marcaine instillations, but I'm frustrated because I still have pain and the doctor does not want to provide with with narcotics to help.

I am the proud mother of a two year old, and I work full time. My husband is in school at night so I am alone with the baby. I need relief so that I can go about my daily functions because I don't have a choice about them.

I'm just looking for folks in the North Alabama area that are interested in forming a support group since there isn't one available here.

Hey April, I have been diagnosed with IC for 2 years. I'm lucky enough to be symptom free as long as a stick to my diet. Stress does cause a major flare at times so I keep my stress down as much as possible, yeah right. I don't see why the doctor will not give you something for pain. It just doesn't make sense to me.


I too live in north Alabama though I am new to the area. I live near Lake Wiess.
