Interstim thought

Hi-
Havne't been to the board in awhile. Currently having a flare, so looking at info. Anyway...I tried Interstim before anyone ever gave me the official IC diagnosis. It didn't work for me. Now I am on meds, trying Heparin etc. My advice is really look at it, pros/ cons and where you are in your disease. I have seen both good and bad as I came to this website when I first considered it in 2001 (and thankfully you all have been great in so many ways). I am glad I trialed it, but also upset that I didn't get offered other things that have now helped me more before I did it. You can never ask your Uro to many questions!

Melanie I also agree with what you say. I also had my interstim done in 2001 and I to look to this site also. Right now I still have the unit in but it is off and does not work anymore. Was waiting to get my SS Medicare to get something done. I also tell people to look at now and the future. I lost my insurance and when my unit failed I could find NO ONE to help me. I have been stuck for the last 1 1/2 years.

Good luck to you Patricia. I am sorry to hear it has been so hard. Just another reason to really look at this- pros and cons.
