Hi Everyone,
Well I had the most wonderful time ever although the plane ride from NY to Sydney was not easy. We spent 6 days in Newcastle and our friends wedding was just beautiful. Then we flew to Melbourne to visit an old friend from high school(she was a foreign exchange student) that I have not talked to in twenty years. It was so great to see her. She has a beach house in Blairgowerie and we spent a couple of days there. Then we flew to Sydney were we stayed in a lovely hotel overlooking Lavender Bay. I just had the most amazing time and the weather was wonderful. I hate winter and cold weather so I never complain about heat. My husband says I am only happy when it is 90 degrees in the shade and he is right. I loved your country it was very beautiful and the people were all very nice. I was so happy that my IC was under control and waited until I got home to act up again, I have been in horrible pain since I returned. I took ten rolls of film with my camera and my husband took 300 on his digital. I even got to see a bunch of kangaroos on the side of the road and got some good pictures. Well it was an amazing trip and I am so glad that we were able to go. Love,
KellyB

What an exciting story! It is tough to be in a flare afterwards, but man, if we worried about that all the time we would never get to experience anything. YOU are amazing, and you had an amazing time that you will always remember! :-)

How exciting, wish I had to the guts to do things like that. I am a big chicken when it comes to the air plane thing.

I am so way beyond envious right now. ;) Why didn't you stop in Memphis and pack me in one of your suitcases? I have a passport... :D

How long did it take you to get there?

:) :) :)

I'm sorry Sharon I would have loved to have brought you along. The flight from New York to LA was six hours and then we had a six hour lay-over and the flight from LA to Sydney was 15 hours. It was not easy. I had to get up and go to the bathroom alot. I also walked as much as I could but even after all that walking my ankles swelled up so huge that I couldn't wear my shoes. When we arrived there my husband made me lay down and elevate my feet because they looked so horrible. I am so glad that I did it because it really was a once in a lifetime trip. Love, Kelly :) :)

Maybe you can put a link up for some of your highlights with the digital pictures. I have always wanted to go to Australia, and now with my youngest in college, the "travel bug" is biting hard...especially to anyplace I can be warm...this winter is doing a number on my ambitious self....anyway, sounds like a fabulous time despite a few too many hrs on the plane and some after trip flaring. What a wonderful memory!

Hey Kelly
Great to hear that you had such a good time here in Oz. Like Betsie, I would love to see some of your holiday snaps and hear more about your trip. When you flew into Melbourne, you would have flown right over my house. Why didn't you wave?
I live quite close to Tullamarine airport and at this time of the year, they use the runways where the planes bank overhead. I often wave while I'm hanging the washing.(No one can see of course!)
I'm sorry that your IC has been acting up since your trip. Perhaps it will settle down now that you are home.
It's interesting to see how many others would like to come over here. I would love to visit your country some time. I have a niece who has travelled in the USA many times and just loves it over there.
