I swear I have the best doctor in the world!! Now if I could just learn to always go to her first! Well, you guys know i have been going through so much drama with my cysto w/hydro and i am in so much pain still, even though it is day 13 today. Well I went to the ER on Monday and was treated so bad and given nothing for pain. Finally yesterday my husband was like, you have to call your ob/gyn doc who he knows I really like and he knows her too. She is the one who I guess would be more like my primary care doctor because she handles all of my medicines and pain control and I talk to her all the time, usually like once or twice a week. She is so nice and always tells me to call or e-mail her every day if I want to, just to let her know how I am. So I finally called her yesterday and her nurse called me back and said I can get you in on Friday, I said please can you get me in any earlier, I am in the most pain of my life. Well she said let me see what the doc says. The nurse called me back in like 2 minutes and said , can you be in here in 15 mins?? I said Heck yeah!!
Anyway, she came in the room and the first thing she said is " I AM SO SORRY!!" She said she felt so bad I had gone through that and she was really mad at the doc in the ER. She told me that I HAVE to learn to call her first. She said no matter what she will see me or do something to help me. So we all sat there, my hubby, her and I , and talked about what medicine would be best for my pain for now. She wanted to do morphine tablets, but they make me sick, so she tried Oxycontin or percocet 10, but my insurance changed now and they wouldnt let her script that unless I was terminally ill, I would have had to pay out of pocket and it wa 290 dollars. So she gave me Norco 10, which she said is like 3/4 of an percocet. However, I can 12 a day!!! Which is ALOT. That is like doubling my other medicine. I took 2 last night and the pain was SO much better. So I am so much happier now!!
She also said that we should think about the long acting medicine too. So I will consider that and i will talk to her in a couple weeks about it. Hopefully that wil help.
So my crisis appears to be over!! Yeah. :woohoo:
Love Sarah :woohoo:

Great news!! :woohoo: :) :D

My uro also helps me out with pain control. And I agree with your doctor, perhaps think about the long acting pain med. I take MS-Contin, which is long acting morphine -- I know you said these make you sick, but there are others out there that may not -- and it does make a big difference in my pain and in how much Percocet I have to take for breakthrough pain. :)

Thanks guys. i am really pleased with out visit. I think it helps to have my husband with me to let them know how much pain I am in. My doc just e-mailed me to let me know she talked to my other doc about the long acting med and they think that either oxycontin or MS contin would be good. She said they can give me something for nauseus (sp) with the morphine, then I could have 10 mg Norco for breakthrough. She gave me about 20 websites to look up info on, because she knows I am a research freak!! Oh, I swear I love that woman!! She wrote that she thought it would be a really good idea and even told me to talk to you all about it and see what you say. I told her about the group and she was really pleased. So what do you think??

Good news Sarah!!! I am so happy you have your hubby and your OB/Gyn in your court. To all others reading this post w/ similar problems, hang in there and keep searching until you find the right doctor...one who is compassionate and understands what we all are going through!
