hey all,
i havent been on here in a while, i guess im in denial. im in that phase where if i think i dont have ic i might not feel the pain. dead wrong! anyway i have a dilema and i am in need of some advice. i have ic and endometriosis. i was on the shot depo lupron which shuts down the ovaries so i dont produce female hormones so i dont have my period. as you all know women with endo have painful periods. i had my last shot oct 25 th last year and it was the 3 month so it would expire on jan 25th. well i still havent started my period and i know what your thinking thats a good thing no pain. ok so here's the dilema my b-friend is going to be in town on march 9-15. he's in texas right now cuz thats where he originally is from and he's taking care of his terminally ill dad. anyways here's the thing i want to get pregnant when my b-friend comes down but im afraid the timing will be horrible. i would like to know if any of you know how to make your period come sooner. we really want this to happen. im not sure when ill see him again. i might move over there but his parents are really religious and wont let us live together cuz we're not married so thats another dilema anyways i would appreciate it if you have any remedies or things to try to start my period. ill try anything. i want this so bad! please help

kim

O.k you can laugh at my questioning. You want to get pregnant when he comes to town?
I don't know of anything that could make you have your period at a certain time. Long ago when I thought of using the shot, my gyno informed me I needed to wait for a period of time before becoming pregnant when the shot was stopped.

I mean I hope things happen the way you want them too. And I hope your boyfriend's taking care of himself along with caring for his dad. I'm sure that is a very emotional rollercoaster to be on.

Take care......... :grouphug: ........

Kim,
I was on the Lupron 3 separate times for stage 4 endo and it took anywhere between 3 and 6 months for my periods to return. Not sure if I was actually ovulating though. Have you had a laparoscopy recently? The only reason I'm asking is because depending on where the implants are, the patency of your fallopian tubes all come into play. I lost one ovary and tube from it(the side that was the worst)in July of 99 and got pregnant and stayed prego with my now 4 year old Lindsey. One benefit you have over me(and of course everyone's experiences vary)is that you're jumping on this alot quicker than I did--was almost 27 when I got married and 2 weeks shy of 30 when I had Lindsey. Let me know if I can help by sharing my experiences, would be glad to do it.

Hugs,

I think it would be a good idea to telephone your doctor's office and ask. You'll get the most accurate answer there.

talk to your doctor. lupron can take anywhere from 3 months to 6 months to leave your system. also, make sure there are no risks. my ob/gyn didn't want me to ttc again (we had tried for several years before lupron) until he was sure the drug was out of my system. once i started having regular cycles again, he did a progesterone draw and confirmed ovulation. my last shot was april 2003, did birth control for about 2 months after because i was having another lap after finishing lupron, then started with regular cycles again in august 2003.

good luck.
