I thought this little tidbit about my hubby(and anyone who has a S.O.)laugh. He called Friday and sounded terrible. So I told him you sound terrible, I can hear the wheezes in CA. Oh no Mr. MachoMan said. I'll be fine. Got an email the next day that said ok, ok I am sick, I actually went to the doctor. He said he had become a virtual walking pharmacy. Sounded absolutely miserable poor baby. The funniest part of this whole scenario is apparently 3/4 of the people who work at the basecamp my hubby is at are sick. Mind you there are only women deployed with my husband's command group and they are all single and don't take well to whiny sick dudes without wives to be at their beck and call. Can you picture it now...about 500 guys and 350 of them sick with no one to whine to. I guess a few of the women deployed have threatened a few of the whinier ones a trip home in a Fed Ex box with holes cut for ventilation.

The other funny thing is that Chris was so hoarse when he called today he thought I had lost it and I thought I was being pranked. He told me--everyone sitting--"I don't know how you all do it feeling like crap all the time. You are so much stronger that I have ever realized. I can't even function with a cold and you are alone with a 4 year old running the house. You are amazing." I asked him if he had done shrooms or anything cause he never says anything like that.

Hugs,
Barb

That is pretty good. Made me have a flashback to the day hubby and I were in the er and it was for him that time. (Kidney stones) Sudden realization just how bad I could actually feel.
Hugs to you......... :grouphug:

Sorry that your hubby is sick but its then and only then do they stop and think what we go threw daily with the children. We are trying to get well control a house, cook, pay bills, take the kids where they need to go for appt. or whatever they have planned for us that day with no help and a lot of times we are flaring running a fever gave out to the bone but we keep going and going like the enegy (sp?) bunny.
we as mother's have to keep going and when they get sick its as if the world stops just for them and we must jump every time they call.

I hope your husband comes home soon well and remembers how awful he felt when he was sick and help you out more.
sending you and him hugs and prayers for a better day

Oh yeah, sorry to hear hubby is sick, but damn, sometimes the Universe does come through and gives out a little bit of payback!! LMAO!! I can't imagine how they are doing without anyone to whine to, that's got to be making them even more miserable!! What a hoot! Men are such babies when they are sick! Sheesh! I remember way back about 17 yrs ago or so, I was sick with a staph and strep infection, invaded my whole body system. I didn't want to go into the hospital like my doc wanted, to get me on some serious I.V. antibiotics, so they devised a plan for me to be on like 10 pills a day (antibiotics) and 2 shots a day, in alternating hips. Ugh it was horrible, the shots were a thick anti, and felt like honey or worse going in, I couldn't sit comfortably, as both my hips were soooooo sore. My fiance at the time had the nerve to ask me "why are you being such a bi*ch?!!" What????! So, I remember clearly thinking to myself, I really wish he'd have a way to know how I feel! Well, the universe came through...while partying with his friends (I was home to sick to get out of bed and he was running around willy-nilly) he stepped on a nail and had to have a tetnus shot!!! LMAO!!!! His arm hurt for days....heh heh heh...I loved it.

Glad to hear he knows a smidgen of what you go through every day, and has gained a respect for you, but I hope he gets well soon (and arrives safely home soon also! :) ), it's not fun being sick so far from home, he must miss you lots!!!

Take Care of yourself!
Hugs,
Tracey :)
