Hello,

I have been doing tons of research in the last week, and I have a feeling that taking fish oil capsules might help IC (unless you are allergic to fish) because of their antinflammatory properties. Has anyone tried this?

I take 6 fish oil caps a day, but for other reasons besides IC. I really don't think they help with the IC symptoms, though. :)

I take them as well but have not noticed that they help my IC at all. They do help with my Eczeama.

I tried them, but they gave me diarrhea so I stopped taking them.

I take wild salmon capsules along with a calcium/magnesium supplement, and I have noticed a small reduction in symptoms. Nothing substantial though.. so I wouldn't rely on it as a cure.

I take 4 fish oil capsules a day. There is some research about that in IC. There may even be something in the main part of ICN about it. (Check in the handbook under supplements.)

I saw a pharmacist today that dispenses alternative medicine (herbs & stuff). He said that fish oil or flax seed oil would help with IC. Since he also said that flax seed oil would help with the dry mouth (from the Elmiron) I'm going to give it a try. I'll let you know how it goes.

My Ophthamologist suggested Flaxseed oil capsules for inflamation for another problem I have but I am thinking I will try it out for the bladder situation also.

I have been taking 4 fish oil tablets for about 6 months now. They don't seem to be helping the IC symptoms any, but I think they may be making me not have any cramps with my endo (for the first time in my life!) But it's still a debate cause there a couple other things I am trying, not eating wheat, and was using progesterone that could be helping the cramps. But I'm leaning more towards the fish oil that is helping. ~Rachel

I've been taking something that has all the different types of fish oil in it, I take 3 capsules @ night then suck on a hard candy as they leave a awful taste when I burp, LOL!! However it's been 3 weeks or so & my arthritis is better, my IC is better (less of a urgency to pee) and my dry eyes are better. Hope this helps. I actually started taking it consistently when I went to the eye doctor & she recommended it for my dry eyes so I immediately started taking them & within a couple of days I noticed a difference.

Did it help the dry eyes too?

My doc suggested fish oil capsules(pharmaceutical grade) for inflammation.

I just started taking the fish oil capsules this week. Everyone that takes them around here says their skin feels so much better and it's supposed to help your eyes and I guess about everything. Most of the eye drs. are telling patients to take them so I thought I would try. They are not leaving a bad taste in my mouth so far.
