I'm considering going on BC pills due to incredibly painful PMS and mild acne so I was wondering if anyone here has got IC relief from them or they worsened their IC?
I don't want to take them if they're going to induce major flares :/
Thanks :)
They have helped me considerably, especially because i take them continuously to not have periods. (my IC is very bad right before/during period)

I agree with Kadi! I now take them continuously for 3 months at a time and it makes a huge difference. It can also change it based on what birth control pills you are on. I would say it is definitely worth looking into too.
Best wishes~

I'm on the Ortho Evra patch. It doesn't make my IC any worse.
Some patient's IC gets better on BC pills and some get worse. I don't remember which hormones seem to aggravate. You might do a search on BC pills on the ICN. Here's a search link: http://www.ic-network.com/search.html

I have been on bc since my daughter was born in August. I take Seasonale, where you only have a period every three months, and it's so much better around that time of the month. Seems like during that time my IC flared up BAD! So this has helped alot with that.

I was on the patch for a while also. It didn't make my IC any worse or give me relief. My IC stayed about the same. Good luck!

I have been on BC pills continuously for over 2 years. I had terrible pain right before and during my periods. That all started when I had my first onset of IC. These pills are definitely worth it to me.
I first tried the pills 3 weeks on/one week off. That did not help. Taking them continuously is what has worked.

I am using the ring, and I LOVE IT!! It helped my pms problems, and actually made my IC better because before, a week before my period I felt like I was dying!! My IC would flare up so bad. The pill seemed to make my IC worse! Women are all so different, and everyones IC is so different that you really just have to try things and see what works for you! Hope this has helped!

Birth control pills didn't bother my ic, but they contributed to a problem that a lot of ic sufferers have - depression.
