I all, I know the question has been asked probably many times before but can't find any threads... can anyone suggest an IC friendly vitamin supplement?? I know that somebody mentioned once a pre-natal vitamin supplement that they tolerated well... (I'm not after a prenatal one neccessarily, but whatever works!!) I am in australia so obviously we have different stuff available over here, but any ideas would be great.
Thanks,
Sara :)

Some people on the boards seem to do well with Children's chewable multivitamins. liz

I could tolerate Alfalfa tablets since they are all natural.

Ester-C is a vitamin C that some ICer's can tolerate. My boyfriend tried to explain the chemistry of why that is... unfortunately I'm a Creative Writing major and couldn't make head nor tails of it.
I think we may be better off getting vitamins seperately, rather than in combination, so that we can avoid the ones we're sensitive to.

Thank-you everyone for your suggestions! Tracey- do you tolerate the folate ok?? I always used to take it but stopped when I was diagnosed. I want to get myself ready now for when (if!) we decide to have another baby.

Well I think I tolerate the folate ok..... I don't know. Since I am pregnant (and a few months before) I have taken it. I "did" wonder as it is called folic "acid". I hate that word-acid. Anyway since it is necessary.....Maybe just being pregnant is the thing that is flaring me and not the vitamins after all.
Good Luck.

folic acid is in flour as well, white flour, and that does not cause a problem for most of us. i think that just because it's called an acid, doesn't *always* mean that it comes out that way in the end, or that it's a very strong acid. chances are your body absorbs most of it.
