A family friend from the neighborhood where I grew up... She is from Jamaica & is black. She was diagnosed by some doctors as having IC, but some doctors said no, it wasn't IC. So maybe??

That is an interesting question. I haven't recalled another african-am.and I've checked this place out since '99 ........but I could be so wrong. Maybe you're the only one who frequently comes to the boards. And you once had your pic up under your user name. That might be why I can only think of you. :)

:angel:...Yes. I just found out last night that the wife of a man my husband works with was just diagnosed with IC. :( I am so sad for her as I am for everyone who has this disease.

Anglea i'm not sure hon I don't know the race of half the people here but I don't think that I.C cares what race or sex nor age it attacks :(

i just saw an ic group at msn... there is a older african american with ic so i'm not the only african american with ic then hehe.
