Freaking!!

:help: Okay, I am just going to hog the whole board here!! LOL. I am freaking out right now because I called in my refill for my pain pills yesterday because I was almost out of them. It usually only takes about 24 hours before they get the approval and process the request. Well I keep calling today and they still havent approved my request!! I am freaked out because I only have enough to last until tomorrow AM, and I am in SO SO SO much pain even with these pain pills that I really do not think I could bear it without them!!
What should I do?? I keep calling and even sent my doc an e-mail telling her I needed them, still no reply??? Aaagh, what do I do????

If the prescription is not filled by morning I'd drive myself to the doctor's office and tell them you are out of meds, called them x-number of days ago for the refill and it hasn't gone through yet and ask them for office samples to get you through until the approval goes through.

Sarah-don't freak yet. From working in a busy practice there were times that meds were not called in until after patient hours were done. So depending on late someone is there they could be called in later. I agree with Jean-if you don't have it resolved in the am then it is time to go in to the office and have them write you one. Good luck and BE EASY ON YOURSELF RIGHT NOW!! you need rest!!

I totally agree -- if nothing happens by morning, go to the office personally if you can make it there and explain what's going on. You deserve pain control, and you need to make that clear to them....

Okay, I probably freaked out a little pre maturely, because I called first thing this morning when I woke up and the pharmacy call center told me that the prescription was approved 5 minutes after I called it in, but the pharmacy hadn't processed the medicine yet. So, I drove to the pharmacy and told them I needed it today and that I would wait for it to be filled. So, it was filled in about 20 minutes. Yeah!!
I am a little angry though, because I called in the script on Tuesday and it was approved on Tuesday. But, I called the automated system and they kept saying it wasnt approved, so if I would have listened to that system, I still wouldnt have my script!!
Oh well, what are you gonna do?? Just glad I have it now
