Hi, I've been taking Algonot for about 5 months now. I suddenly had a flare up without understanding why. I guess that happens to many of us. Could I be taking too much Algonot? Has anyone had flare ups while taking. Does it build up in your system to the point that it gives you trouble? I didn't realize all this until I went in and read all of your posts. It has been about six weeks that I have been noticing a problem. My Dr. doesn't know much about these supplements. I'm just wondering if I made things worse. Please help with any info you migh have. Thanks, Judy G

I"ve been on Alganot for 4-5months and don't feel it has caused me any flare. I think it has helped some but not as much as I'd like! I was hoping it would help stretch out my treatments but I'm back to weekly! I do have some good days inbetween though and thankful for that! Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Thanks for your speedy reply. Another question, what kind of diet do you eat. Such as breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mine goes like this, breakfast: oatmeal with blueberries, lunch, a piece of bread and some slice roast beef (nitrate free) and a piece of morezzrela and dinner some kind of meat or pasta and a small amount of vegies. My biggest downfall is sweets, I think I might be trying to comfort myself. Seems most of what I eat is white. I wish someone had the answer. My biggest symptom is burning urin but is mostly controled with prelief. If I wait to long between going, like at night then my bladder will hurt. I hope and pray for the day that I can post a note that says I've been symptom free for many months. I also hope and pray that that this can even be possible. Thanks again for your help

I follow the IC diet and eat a lot ot white things tooo! Alfredo, white pizza etc. I cook and bake a lot and mill my own wheat so am blessed! I eat homemade pumpkin bread, biscuit etc. with an egg every morning.Since I bake I reduce the sugar, use brown sugar or splenda etc. I make my own jelly with gala apples, pear of blueberries. (I use Pomonia pectin and splenda or small amout of sugar.) There are some great salad dressing under the post on salad dressing in the IC diet section. This has been wonderful and expanded my diet! I now use the cottage cheese and make things to replace mayo etc. which opens a whole new world:) Had my first stuffed egg today in along time! I also only drink distilled water. Dinner is meat/veges or things like chicken lasagna!
I still have a lot of burning and can't function with out weekly instills but have a few really good days inbetween. i hope that helps some and you feel better soon!

Hi Romans, thanks for your info. I have printed out your reply to me to keep me encouraged. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. What is your favorite dressing. I only ask as I am tired of making thinks and throwing them out in dissapointment. Another question if you don't mind, are you taking perscription meds from your Dr.? I am trying to do this using the alternatives, up unti now it has been working. Thanks for you help again, Judy G

The one posted under salad dressing using cottage and parmesian cheese.., mmm good. it works great on burgers too! I have been also trying alternative but do take hydroxizine 25mg. I am also on UROCIT-K (potassium-citrate) since both my kidneys are also full of stones. THE Urocit-K reduces the acid of my urine and helps the IC too!
I use AZO. Pyridum plus or percocet only when I have too! I alos recieve weekly heparing, lidocaine, mercaine, kellog(sp) instills!
Other wises I am on silverbiotics.., a natural alternative for my chronic infection, Omega-3 and some chinese herbs a yin tonic! I go to an herbalist chiropractor
for adjustments and to over see my natural meds!
Hope this helps ans is not overwhelming!

It is here under post for salad dressings, under diet and IC:
Cottage cheese 1/2 c
1/4-1/2 cup ,milk
2 Tbs. of honey or SplendThe rest to taste
rosemary
basil
garlic powder
Parmesian cheese
It was origianly posted by elmuyloco5, then by Stacey

I mix it with a small mixer in a cup, add mild till I like the texture and only add 1Tbl honey or splenda, plus use lowfat milk and cottage cheese. This also makes a great pizza sauce:)Hope you like it as much as I do!

I have been taking it for about 3 months now and I still have flares with it. It helps mostly so I don't feel so weak and tired but I can drink water most of the time now. I take the 6 pills a day.
