I went in yesterday for a hydro and laparoscopy. My doctors found that I also have endometriosis. My body is so frustrating! IC, migraines, IBS, now endometriosis too. Does anyone else have all of these? I feel like my body is trying to shut down. Grr. :headbang:

i have IC, endometriosis, graves disease (auto-immune hyperthyroid) and non-specific colitis. aggravating as all get out too. my colitis should clear up soon with meds (we're hoping). my gyn told me endo, IC and graves are all auto-immune diseases and are related somehow. kind of sucks. but we're here if you need us. to vent, get support, whatever.

I too have Endometriosis, VV, IC and IBS. It sucks when they all happen at once. I have had increased Endo flares and that has sparked something with my IC & VV. This flare is into its 3rd week now and I am so over it.

well I had all of those and other things....I think since hysterectomy the migraines are cured (hopefully). My IBS has the help of Crohns to exsist. I hope endo is your last diagnosis....just as hope non of us get anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have endometriosis along with IC and VV. I am now only eating hormone and antiobiotic free meat. My PT told me that any extra hormone in meats can cause endometriosis to get worse because of the hormone in the meat. I have done alot of research so I do believe her. I am on the depo shot now. But I am not crazy about never having a period!!

Could someone tell me what symptoms one might have with endometriosis? And what kind of testing was done to confirm endo?

I have I.C. and endometriosis as well.
I don't know if anyone needs to be concerned about meat eating affecting endometriosis because I have endometriosis but have been a vegetarian for 15+ years.

Kimberly,
Symptoms of endometriosis do mimic interstitial cystitis symptoms. With endo you have pelvic pain, pain during intercourse, most people have heavy painful periods . I have a burning sensation around my bladder and ovaries when I get ready to start. The only true way to diagnose endo is through laparoscopy. It doesn't show up on any test. My sister also has endo. She thought she had a bad bladder infection, but found out later it was the endo. So it is very hard to tell the difference without a proper diagnosis. Of course, I am not a doctor. This is just my experience.

From what I have heard from my doctors, all these things tend to come in packages. I also have endometriosis, fibromyalgia/chronic fatique syndrome, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, IBS, VV, Allergies/Sinus, Scoliosis, 8 pinched nerves & a buldging disk in my back, and Degenerative Disk Disease. I am also a recovering alcoholic (3years sober). For years, on and off, I have struggeled with Buliema and anxiety/despression. My back doctor also suspects I may have Rhuematoid Arthritis and/or Lupus, both of which my mother has. And I am only 26 years old! What will I be like when I am 50? I do work full time (around 60 hours a week). My stuff got better when I started working full time. I am a graphic designer, so I sit down most of the day and the people I work with are very nice. I also have a very supportive Husband who does all the housework and grocery shopping. There is hope! I think all these medical conditions are link to eachother.
Take Care! You are not alone, and neither am I!

So many of us here have multiple syndromes. One thing I have found is that many of the treatments do overlap, so while we are listing our variety of "stuff" I believe many people also deal with multiple issues, it's just not dinner party conversation...I used to hate it when I found my in laws talked about health issues all night long, so I really try to limit the conversations to on line and live as normally as possible in the real world. The stuff it interferes with? I deal with it as it comes along, but it doesn't get in the way of too much. Actually my periods, before GYN surgery interfered far more with my life every month, now I just deal with pain on my worst cycles.

I guess the point I am trying to make is that I think this is far more of the norm....funny when our parents were raising us we had one Dr for everything and maybe it's mind over matter, but I don't remember them with multiple illness syndromes. We ar definitely a generation of specialists....

Wow-have you folks all been reading my diary??? My research indicates that autoimmune illnesses travel in groups, as someone previously mentioned. I have/had endo, abnormal uterine bleeding, dysmenorhea, fibroid tumors, endometriomas, ovarian cysts, dysplasia (all of which hopefully gone after hysterectomy and ovary removal in Dec.04); followed by fibro/CFS, migraines (haven't had one since hysterectomy though), IC, allergies. Hormonal imbalance and autoimmune deficiency can trigger all of the aforementioned. They do seem to travel in packs-but I thought for sure i was the only one experiencing this misery-so glad to hear others understand (so sorry that you do, though, don't wish it on ANYONE)!
I wondered-has anyone had epstein barr virus/mono early in life prior to onset of all/some of these illnesses????

christinaw, i never had any problems as a child except 3 bouts with chicken pox. but my dad and his father both had/have autoimmune problems. grandfather had rheumatoid arthritis and dad has multiple sclerosis. i guess in a way they can be inherited too.
