I havent rode in a few weeks cuz of all this. I swear I think I have trigger points in my butt now. I was thinking maybe some sciatic. Yrs ago I went to a PFT and she told me I had trigger points in my back, that I already know.I waitress so it isnt much fun. Nothing I takes helps this :cussing: pain. It aches burns. I am sooo sick of all this. I also have fibromyalgia, if it isnt one place hurting its another!!!!!!!!, I just started doing my yoga stretches again. I am 40 and feel like 100. I feel like taking a gun and shooting my right hip and butt off!!!!Any suggestions. Ihave been using the heating pad, I even tried a vicodin, that didnt help. AAAARRRGHH!!-Thanksjojo

Have you discussed this pain with your doctor? I do think that would be a good idea. You may have something going on that can be fixed.

did you find relief from hip and butt pain? I have the same issue! I've gotten relief temporarily from massages. I'm going to a chiropractor this week.

and suggest a TENS unit too. Combined with a heating pad, it can be very quick relief!

I spent 3 months trying to figure out a very similar and extremely painful situation. I had fallen, but the symptoms arrived a bit after. The pain has traveled into my hips, pelvis and OMG, my knees hurt when I bend even a tad.
I am finally in PT and according to a "physiatrist" I saw to figure out the problem, I actually moved my pelvis and sacrum...everything else is compensating for this and one leg is much shorter (for now), which causes that much more pain...all due to ligaments and muscles "on strike"!
I feel for you, it is horribly painful and walking, sitting, standing sleeping are near impossible. I am hopeful for results through PT. I hope you don't wait as long as I did, it really screwed up things even more.:tsk:
Good luck and I really hope you get help soon.:kissing:

Sorry, I know how much that can hurt and disable. I had the same kind of pain and my Dr. diagnosed it as sciatic nerve pain. My Dr. explained that mine was peripheral nerve damage, and it is pretty common. It was most of the time in my lower back/hip/right but cheek(a few times it changed sides) and sent shooting sharp pains down my leg and sometimes I lost feeling in my foot.
If it is sciatica nerve pain you need to get answers from your Dr. and maybe talk to a neurologist. Treatment for this hinges on the underlying problem that your Dr. can help you solve. I know some who have begged for back surgery and unfortunately, it did not help. I actually was considering buying a wonderfully expensive mattress but finally I was able to get well from this, so therefor I am putting the new mattress on hold for now. Really press your Dr. to help you uncover the problem that is causing this uncomfortable pain. You may just discover, that you don't have to live with this, and with help this might go away or lessen in intensity. I do pray for you, and I am sending you a pm.

I have the same pain, between the sciatic nerve, hip pain (from when I was born, they dislocated my left hip) Scoliosis(?), it makes it hard to sit all day long, so I sit on a pillow; have my heating pad. Started to go to a chiropractor a few weeks ago, but stopped (as my other medical bills started coming in, so I couldn't afford that and pay them, too), but I did get a shoe lift- and that seems to help some).

From my experience your hip and back pains may be from the fibromyalgia. I also have this and only find relief for parts of my day by taking tramadol. I have an appointment in 2 weeks for Kolden therapy/Bowen technique. If it is helpful for my fibromyalgia, I will let others know.

I get pain similar to that when my sacrum gets rotated out of alignment. Usually an adjustment or two, plus some trigger point release therapy (massage too) helps relieve the discomfort. I will also put ice on my low back/upper butt and rub Arnica gel on it. I was in pain last Fri/Sat and after having all that stuff done, my discomfort went away.
This is really weird. I had saw that someone had responded to my post. When I read it, i said to my hubby I swear I dont remember writing this. But when I look at the date the original post was from Feb 2005. That was way over a yr ago. i didnt realize the posts stayed that long. Well anyway, it struck me funny because I have been having the same problems again but worst. Its harder now because I have a 2 yr old foster son, so he keeps me busy. The Dr just did a hip xray but nothing shown. I have a feeling im going to need an MRI on my lower back to see what is going on in there. In reading some of your posts someone had mentioned about there leg being shorter, and I swear thats how I feel like my right leg is shorter, because I am always leaning to the left to compensate. well anyway I have to talk to my primary today but what kind of Dr would be the right onefor this and orthpedic,if nerves are involved a neurologist? It was like fate was trying to send me a message to get this really looked into.My IC sisters , my angels-jojo

If you're having a problem that might be related to your spine, you really will want to see a neurologist. Your primary care physician should be able to make an appropriate referral.

I have the exact same problem. Right hip pain, butt pain, extending down the right leg. I went to an Ortho doctor who sent me to physio, but I couldn't complete it because of the time involved. 3x's a week for 3 or 4 weeks. I'm in complete agony all of the time. I thought it was inflamed nerves from IC because when I took Uristat the pain went away in my bladder and in the hip, butt, and leg. Anyone know what kind of doctor I should see. Should I go back to the Ortho?

I am presently in physical therapy for urethral spasms and OB which I thought were all due to IC. The PT found a lot of problems with my pelvic floor muscles and when they were stimulated internally I had shooting urethral pains and had to pee. I also had a sharp pain in the hip going down the butt and into the leg on the same side, all got worse or better from the pressure points the PT pushed internally. I was amazed.
I guess the lower back gets injured or out of alignment in some way, causes muscles to swell, muscles tick of the nerves, they start to fire and cant stop, muscles freeze in place and there goes the pain cycle. All the nerves to the pelvic cavity go through the coccyx and lower back.
We are working on this, it hurts when they work on this, and the next day I didnt feel so hot either, but the butt and leg pain went away or I was going to the chiropractor.
