What a goob... I made some fudge last night for the kids, and tonight my cat was whining and doing his "feed me" dance while I was cutting it. I offered him some to shut him up, knowing he'd turn his nose up as usual, and he almost took my finger off! :loco:
I know chocolate is deadly to dogs, but I'm not sure about cats? He only got a teeny bite, but is now bawling for more... what a goofball. He eats the weirdest things! None of us can eat yogurt anywhere near him without sharing, and vanilla pudding is his favorite treat, until the fudge of course... he even ate the walnuts! Guess I better make sure the lid is on tight!

Cats and dogs both should never be given chocolate. It can kill them. As long as you just gave a teeney weeney bit and no more he should be fine. Dark chocolate and baker's chocolate is the deadliest for them.
Missy-my dog is a goofball too. She is a 7 month old JRT/Beagle (we think) mix and she will eat ANYTHING!!! The other night my husband was eating some fruit and salad and he was feeding her lettuce, grapes, melon, strawberries-all covered in yogurt and you woulda thought she was eating hamburger. She is a weirdo!!

Ya know, dogs love fruit. My dog can't get enough. He loves apples. It's funny. He also loves sweet-tarts and smarties. It's funny. If I'm eating smarties he sits all cute and puts his paw on my leg... I love him! He's very well-behaved for 7 months.

Pets are the craziest things!! I had one cat who went nuts for green olives, if I had a pizza with green olives -- she somehow knew it and would do anything to get to it! Another had a thing for canned mushrooms and cantelope! One day I had opened a can of 'shrooms and turned my back in the kitchen -- I turned around and there he was UP on the counter (and he KNEW better) with his little face stuffed in the 'shroom can munching away!! And the cantelope, holy moly, he'd crawl all over you to get to your melon, you'd think it was tuna or something! And my girl who just passed away last week, like I said, LOVED potato chips, would beg and reach out a paw to snag one if she could, always did call her my "junk-food kitty", lol. My childhood dog love celery. You'd think she was given steak, she'd beg for celery whenever my mom was cutting it up for stuff, crazy!!!
Hmm, I have a cat who had a tendancy to get UTI's, yep think her and I were made for eachother too!!! LOL
Hugs,
Tracey :)

My Maine Coon eats black olives ... he is crazy about them!! He's also eaten a chunk of tomato before!
But yes, never give cats chocolate. It's very bad for them. Also, onion and garlic both are bad for cats -- a chemical in these can bind to their hemoglobin and cause a severe anemia. The effects are cumulative as well, so it's never a good idea to feed Kitty anything with those in them, even the tiniest bits, as it can add up over time.
As for cats with IC, my mother-in-law's Siberian cat has it... poor kitty :( It's so sad... but we share a bond that only 2 ICers can ;)

Also, it's not a good idea to give dogs grapes or raisens --- not sure what it does but those plus chocolate are off limits for our doggie.

Boy.... I sure wouldn't give any pet chocolate. Too many horror stories there. On the otherhand, my Sammy really likes fruit... cantaloupe, watermelon and peeled grapes. Go figure!
