Still doing really well

Hey folks,
I don't get around to visit much any more, but wanted to stop in here with an update on my IC. I am still doing really really well :::knocking on wood::: I rarely have IC symptoms any more and eat anything I want to now. I have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, which when it's flaring, it can aggravate my bladder from the spasms and constant need to use the bathroom. But still, nothing close to my early days with IC.

So, just a reminder, folks, that there is hope to recover from IC. Everyone hang in there and remember to take good care of yourselves!

Melanie, that is SO GREAT!!! I love hearing success stories!

Melanie, I just want to say that is fantastic! I love reading that, because despite the first few troublesome days after my diagnosis, I have tried to maintain a positive attitude of "this is only temporary, give your meds a chance, take care of yourself and you will feel good again someday", and reading updates like yours just makes me so happy for you and for me. :)

And I have to tell you, when I read your patient story back in Aug or Sept of last year, well before I was diagnose, I broke down into tears, I had been feeling everything that you went through, and was so relieved to find out I was not crazy. So thanks to your story, I felt a "knowing" of what was going on and got me on the road to treatment!! Thank you sooo much for that!!!

Hey Melanie,

That's awesome! :) Glad to hear you're doing so much better (aside from the IBD, that is!) And at least now that you've been diagnosed correctly for IBD, you can get appropriate treatment, so you'll eventually have fewer of those flare-ups. Life is pretty good now, huh? :woohoo:

I'm glad that my story gives people hope. Believe me, I am thrilled to be able to report that I'm doing well! I would have never thought I'd feel "normal" again when I first came to the boards all those years ago now.

Diane - click on the link in my signature line. It tells my whole story about what treatments I used to get to this place. Now, I only take 400 mgs of Elmiron a day. Yep, life is pretty good. :-)

You have no idea how much your story in particular helped me, with all the strange aches and pains I was feeling, I was at a loss! Then I read your story, and it was pure relief, someone else had these things too, and it was all related to one thing, IC! Thanks again, just can't say that enough!!!!!!
