First of all, I would like to appologize for my absence from the boards. Sometimes we just need a break.

Second of all, I want to update all my friends on what's happening with me. Last month I had an ultrasound at the gyn & they said that it looked like my ovaries were stuck to my uterus. Endo. So, I'm scheduled for a laproscopic assisted hysterectomy on March 2nd. I'm really looking forward to this surgery & very hopeful that it will relieve a lot of my pain. All this time they've been telling me that it's just my IC & IBS causing all this pain. Somehow, deep inside, I knew that there was more going on. I persisted until all avenues were checked out. I'm glad that I did because I have hope now. It sounds strange to other people that I'm very happy that they suspect endo. Hey - it's something that can be fixed. Yippiee! I finally have something that can be treated! I have hope that I will be better! If anyone else has gone through this surgery, I would appreciate your input. I'm still freaked out about recovery - how long until you feel better?

Karma-
I had a TAH in 2002 and the recovery was very quick for me--I actually felt better almost immediately. My IC hadn't been dx yet, but the endo pain was definitely different. I was up and around the same day. The pain was nothing compared to what I had day to day. If you want, PM me your number, I have unlimited long distance. I can answer all your questions based on my experience.

Hugs,

Karma....I do think we have a lot of instincts about our bodies....I always seem to be right lol! I want to warn you that Endo is not always fixable! It took me about a year after my hysterectomy before Endo pain was hardly ever around. As far as recovery from surgery I can't speak to it since my hysterectomy was full abdominal it takes longer to recover from that. Do have faith though that even if Endo pain seems to stick around a bit that it still may go down more in time. I so hope this surgery goes well and you feel a lot better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Praying for you on March 2!
