I was examined and was told "you are completely lock up on your left side" It is hard to say where the ic starts and the pfd starts for me. I have been in pain for several yrs now..but I figured if pt could help I would take it. The only new symtom I got was my hips began to hurt. And also sexual I am like dead..which was a change..or at least it got worse. I started treatment yesterday. I have high hopes it will help. The exam itself didn't hurt any worse than anything else. Sorry I couldn't help much..but if you think you have it, have it checked out. I am glad I did.

I've done pelvic floor PT and it hurts like hell. I did 13 weeks and no improvment but my pelvic floor is really bad. I did botox in the bladder so now my dr wants me to try it again. I had my pap done and just the exam hurt for days after. I had horrible spams after that. PT isn't as bad as that but it very invasive and be prepared for it to hurt later in the day ( and don't push yourself because you will kick yourself later). Plan your appointment so you can take a nap after and drink lots of water afterwards. You would think it but it really drains you.I have PFD really bad so it might not be as bad of an experience for you. Just know that it isn't easy and you have to work at it. I'm starting it back up again next week becaus I know it helps because since I stopped it got worse. I didn't notice it until I stopped I didn't see results in the way of freq/urg but it stopped it from getting worse. That's why I'm going back. Good luck to you and feel free to private message me if you want.

My symptoms are a burning and tight feeling in my urethra and vagina. Sex is incredibly painful even with lubrication and position changes. I had a PFD eval last week and she said I was really tight and I could not relax my PF. The exam was a bit uncomfortable for me but not as bad as a pap smear. She did some myofascial massage and trigger point release and I was able to do the big grocery store shopping without pain for the first time in 6 months. She would like to start some biofeedback also, but my insurance won't pay for a home unit (another thread). Guess I'll see if the office treatments work before I invest $600 in my own unit.
