My first day at pt..of course she had to eval me first...and of course..I had pfd....she was very kind and understanding. It was so refreshing to talk to a health care provider was understands...and knows what ic is!! I start next week two times a week....so grateful and happy ..just to think about having some relief!!1

It has done me a world of good. I am done now, except for getting my tens unit. I am just wondering how long the relief last?

I started PT today and the office "visit" was $135. She wants me to get the biofeedback unit and when I called last week, the supplier told me they would check the insurance and get back to me. Well even though my insurance covers all but $10 of the elmiron each month and 80% of the office visits, it will not pay for me to have my own unit for use at home. I called the supplier back and asked what the cost to me would be. She said they would give me a 20% discount over the list price but it would still cost almost $600. I can do the PT at home for $600, my cost, or the insurance company pays $135 each visit, for many visits. Seems that it would be cheaper to buy the unit for me. This seems like a no-brainer to me at significantly more cost to the insurance company. How much sense does that make?
