I am not able to sleep at night. I noticed I've had this problem since the new year started. It's just that thereare soo many things I want to do and need to do and my ic gets in the way of all of it!! I have a serious case of anxiety and lots of stress! I didn't fall asleep until 6a.m. this morning, I was up all night and going to the bathroom every 15 min.(I think I gave myself a flare-up from soo much thinking and stuff)!! When I finally fell asleep and woke up, I still had a flare-up!! :headbang: I have a refferal to go see a therapist but I'm soo tired from not sleeping at night I can't get out of bed in the morning and the office is only open to new patients from 8a.m. to 10a.m.!! It was like 3:30 in the morning and I'm in the shower while the rest of the world is sleeping dreaming away!! I hate this!!! :cussing:

I usually don't sleep during flares but anxiety has this one.... have a bladder infection - all antibiotics I am allergic to are the ones needed to cure it... took a bad one today and benadryl keeps me up after several doses plus itching! :bonk:

I know how you feel :grouphug:
Have you tried Hydroxyzine? It's an antihistamines that helps with IC flares and anxiety. If you take one a few hours before you want to go to bed it should help you sleep

I have sleeping problems also. My doc prescribed restoril and it does wonders. There is a new sleep medication that I read about (name escapes me) that is not addictive and, therefore, can be prescribed for long periods of time.

I know how hard it is to sleep through a flare :headbang: and I also agree about the Hydroxyzine (Atarax). That along with the Elavil are the only things that get me through the night. I still wake up on occassion, but it is much easier to fall back to sleep because you get so drowsey.
Talk to your doctor about some kind of medication because this is hard enough to get through without being sleep deprived! :bonk: Hang in there!
