I have the InterStim. The trial is the hardest part, and you might be sore for awhile, but just rest up and take it easy, the pain should lessen. I hope it works well for you.

Hugs,
Jess

Are you referring to the InterStim? I am sorry, I just assumed, because the nerves sound similar to what you said? I might be wrong.

You will be sore during the trial phase of the Interstim surgery..i just got the permanent device implanted on Tuesday and am still sore...I would just say to take it easy is the big thing even though I know laying around can be boring after while, but I think it will prevent u from messing up the wires or anything...I am in pain still so I know what u mean, so just hang in there

Well I have to admit that for the Stage 1 surgery I was really nervous about the pain and the whole thing, but I just kept telling myself the benefits this would bring to me if it is successful means so much more to me than a few days of pain...I was real sore the 1st few days after the Stage 1 surgery...I dont' think the pain is something that is so horrible though that can't be handled, just be ready to rest and take it easy and dont' over do it...Have someone to be there to help u cook, clean etc and within a few days u will be ok..I went stage 2 surgery Tues and still in pain though feeling better...Things will be ok!!

I'm very sore I have to admit but, I really think its working for me . I think the worst problem about it is the pain medication that is my problem it makes me so sick no matter if I eat with it or not . But for anyone who has to have the inner stim done I would do it all over again to improve some of the symptoms of frequently having to void and maybe having some normal in my life again having 3 kids and being normal so mom is not sick all the time because it doesn't only affects us but, every one in the family. So I'm praying that the second stage goes good as the first and I really believe its basically how experienced your uro is in how succesful the surgery goes . I wish everyone success in handling this there may not be a cure but maybe someday they will find a cure and we all can be pain free just don't give up and let this disease control your lives because it can if you let it. lots of love ktrncl (from kentucky)

Honey, if you get sick with narcotics, there is a medicine you can ask for called Phenargan that keeps you from throwing up with narcotics. See if you can phone your doctor and ask for that so you won't be so miserable with the pain meds.

Blessings, Lori

I had the spinal cord nerve stimulation put on Tuesday, it was painful, but think it is going to work for me! I have been sore, but it is getting better each day now. I had to go back to my doctor the next day, because i wasn't with it after the surg. and i was in pain and they was giving me pain meds to, so i wasn't sure of the settings. so they did the settings for me again, and now it is working good. I go back Monday for them to take the leads out and I don't know how much pain that will be, can anyone let me know about that? And then they will see about having it put in under the skin. So I just really think it is going to work for me. This only for the pain of IC, the way i understand, the freq. and that i am not sure if it really helps that, because so far this has not help me with that part of it.
